Small Business Stories - Dolls New to You Ivy Hartman: Welcome to the Naval conference 2007 here in Atlanta Georgia I’m Ivy Hartman and with me is Tammy Johnson with guys and dolls new to which is helping women business centers dressed for success. Tammy tell us a little bit about your first time attendee at this Naval conference does it that you have obtain from this conference. Tammy Johnson: Well its triple we obviously want to get our product out there and get our name out there but as a small business we are concerned with the same things that everyone else has help insurance retirement benefit so I’m here to learn and to promote our business. Ivy Hartman: Okay let’s talk about your business what is that we talk about dressing for success. Tammy Johnson: Dressing for success we sell high in designer clothing we showcase St. John and we want to help the business women work and have clear outfits, evening outfits, sports outfit because when you dress well you feel well. Your successfully you feel successful and we want to portray that and help the women achieve that goal. Ivy Hartman: There is a stigma and you know I can be with the designer clothing is beautiful and wonderfully made and we’re so well on everyone but what are some other main differences between buying a suit at may cease off the rat and buying at St. John’s or Chanele or something from new to you? Tammy Johnson: It’s quality even the buttons are nicer the item wears well it packs well. Many of this women travel and they can fold this items out and paying them up they don’t wrinkle they can even roll them up in their bags but its also again about wearing something quality, you know it’s going to last so you may pay more for it but you won’t have to replace it next year. Ivy Hartman: So you guys are basically all exhibitors and tell it yourself on an online sales, is that right with guys and dolls. So how do you — what’s marketing strategy? Tammy Johnson: You know it’s changing ever changing we are actually right now the largest eBay seller for St. John that’s where the largest seller on eBay and that’s how we got started. We have developed a website now where our customers can go and buy items right from our website because there are some people that don’t go to eBay and then we have our website but there’s some people who don’t look going to the internet so we are trying to build our client tell. We also do consignments so we’re trying to build that business because the items were so well and we resale. Are you a St. John suit will still be wonderful years and years so we’re evolving and expanding more into the face to face sales like this events and the consignment. Ivy Hartman: Wonderful. Thanks for being with us Tammy and I do know that those St. John’s suit wear very well because Laura Bush, and other celebrities. Tammy Johnson: Condoleezza Rice. Ivy Hartman: Condoleezza Rice great national celebrity and Missouri we look to Claire Mac caspal she’s one of our leaders in Missouri and so all these wonderful women are wearing the suits and they are very successful and they look wonderful and very feminine. Tammy Johnson: Yes they are and we have many Mrs. USA contestants, Miss USA contestants, we have high profile women in politics that actually are customer of ours so it’s fun to see them and when we are doing outfits we can say that’s from guys and dolls new to you and its kind of fun.
