Alex Fees: I’m Alex Fees on SBTV.com. We are coming to you from Denmark, Colorado, sides of the Michael Gerber's Small Business Conference titled “Exploring the E-myth.” And joining me here now is Joan Moniot. Do I have that right Joan?
Joan Moniot: Right.
Alex Fees: All right. You’re an entrepreneur yourself.
Joan Moniot: Yes.
Alex Fees: Tell me about East Lodge Interiors.
Joan Moniot: My business right now is interior design but the reason that I’m here today is because I have a vision to create something that will allow people to get in touch to their own created interior and develop their own ability to create interiors in terms of their space. That is them and not me.
Alex Fees: Okay.
Joan Moniot: Most people are afraid of that process.
Alex Fees: Really?
Joan Moniot: And so my dream envisions creating a space that people can come to; a gathering place where they can sit around and have a cup of tea and be mentored in the process of discovering their own creativity and applying that to where they live because our environment, our living environment affects how we feel, how we are and who we are in a sense and so it should be an expression of who each person is.
Alex Fees: Right.
Joan Moniot: Because then that in turn feeds that person’s soul and becomes a haven for them.
Alex Fees: Right. So Joan, you’re trying to empower people to learn how to figure out their own interior design so to speak.
Joan Moniot: Yes, yes.
Alex Fees: Instead of paying someone like you to come up with ideas for them.
Joan Moniot: Yes, yes and not that I can’t make, you know suggestion.
Alex Fees: Sure.
Joan Moniot: But everyone has it inside of them. Everyone with prompting would be able to come up with their own vision for their home and it would just be more unique and more beautiful in the long run.
Alex Fees: Okay, matured self.
Joan Moniot: Right.
Alex Fees: But Joan, how does Michael Gerber’s philosophy he’s in, some of the concepts he’s talking about, how did those fit in to your vision?
Joan Moniot: Part of the reason I’m not already doing this is because I haven’t really had, he was so right today when he interviewed me up there.
Alex Fees: Right.
Joan Moniot: I haven’t really had my own permission to create this. It’s a huge thing when you think about it and so I think, I spend softening myself and so from me, as he invited me to come to the dream room, it feels as though, if I were to do that, something inside of me would be released. It’s like what I want to do for other people.
Alex Fees: Right, yeah.
Joan Moniot: I want to release something in them but it has to be released in me first.
Alex Fees: Okay.
Joan Moniot: And so that’s really when I heard even just a little bit about what he does that really rang my bell so to speak.
Alex Fees: Well Joan, where can people go to get more information about these Lodge Interiors.
Joan Moniot: Lodge Interiors.
Alex Fees: And also, just the concept that you’re talking about.
Joan Moniot: Well I don’t yet have a website.
Alex Fees: Okay.
Joan Moniot: But I have an e-mail address.
Alex Fees: Okay.
Joan Moniot: joanmoniot@yahoo.com and anyone can e-mail me there and I can send them out to their questions or send them a copy of my vision so that they can get a better understanding of what it is.
Alex Fees: Okay. Again that joanmoniot@yahoo.com
Joan Moniot: Right.
Alex Fees: Moniot again is M, o, n, I o t.
Joan Moniot: Right.
Alex Fees: All right Joan, thank you very much.
Joan Moniot: Thank you.
Alex Fees: We appreciate you being here.
Joan Moniot: Thank you.
Alex Fees: I’m Alex Fees on SBTV.com’s small business is our only business.
