Danica Patrick: There's a tremendous amount of emphasis on team work and working together and friendship.
Alex Fees: That's the new race car driver Danica Patrick on XM Satellite Radio, and that's Patrick's Indy Race car. After three years behind the wheel, one of the biggest names in open wheel racing, spoke to sbtv.com about her association with SEMA.
Danica Patrick: As someone that is involved in a sport that revolves around sponsors and around marketing and around products and branding, I think that a show like SEMA, especially in the automotive world is absolutely where you have to be, you are here for your sponsors, you are to promote, you are here to keep things going and not only do you care for people that you know and people that you are already associated with but the opportunities are endless at a place like this.
Alex Fees: The XM Satellite Radio interview with Danica Patrick turned into a lesson on marketing and promotion. When the President of the Indy Racing League started emphasizing the four things. They believe give them an advantage over other types of auto racing. Terry Angstadt says these are the advantages of Indy. It is the fastest, features innovation and technology with high tech cars, offers diversity of drivers or driversity. An Indy car racing is green. Angstadt says, no other racing format is running on pure grade, 100% ethanol.
Terry Angstadt: It's critical and you know business, I mean, it's all about frequency and messaging. So you don't want to jump around, you want to find what those attributes are and really hit the frequency.
Alex Fees: And speaking of diversity, how about featuring, a well spoken attractive women, as one of the premiere driver.
Terry Anstadt: Clearly, she does not shy away from the fact that she is beautiful young women. So that does work to her benefit and ours.
Alex Fees: In Las Vegas, at SEMA 2007, I am Alex Fees for sbtv.com.
