Ivy Hartman: The Vision to Venture is a multi-faceted event with the panelist and expert from the business as well as networking opportunities and with me is Miranda Bryant, who actually was one of our panelist and a publisher, a poetry publisher
Miranda Bryant: We’re working on it, we’re working on it it’s just the start, it’s the start for me and I’m excited about it, I’m kind of just overwhelmed being in this, this being my first time conference, and it’s so much information that I have available and just provide it to me, to really get my foot in the door and get started for my business as well.
Ivy Hartman: But really, you are the expert, you were really paraded as the expert on this event, so talk about how was it like to kind of mentor some of these women here?
Miranda Bryant: Well, I learned a lot
Ivy Hartman: Really
Miranda Bryant: Basically by using Microsoft lab in the information that they have available for us to deal or start with the marketing, the advertisement, the e-mail contacts, the templates easy to use and everything that’s provided helped me push my writings into the forefront online as well
Ivy Hartman: Now talk about how you got and what, where the idea came from and how you got started outside of the publishing online
Miranda Bryant: Honestly, a friend of mine that I know of, some our poetry, suggested that I go on poetry.com and just do a poem, and once I did the poem, I actually got selected to publish in their book. And so then, Wisdom Publications came to mind because they were right to say, well every time you talk, you have a, you know, you sound like we have a voice and you really reach out to other people, and so that started Wisdom Publications because lying in is a voice where it’s got power, and that’s why I started with the publication.
Ivy Hartman: Now that’s well said, but not everyone has the skill that you do. I know that we talked it today has been about networking with people who do the same thing you do, but do you realize that or is it your confidence come form other people telling you that?
Miranda Bryant: Actually I got it from other people, once I realize that people who likes or likes what you’re saying and I understand where you’re coming from, that spoke loudly to me; and then it gave me more confidence, okay, way back and do this, and I can step by me and it , and be successful at it, this way I am
Ivy Hartman: But what is your advice then for other women, business centers or people who, other women who are looking to start their own business?
Miranda Bryant: Play in and test the waters, if you can’t get someone to tell you, you know, show you what you have and then step out there and do it, I think don’t allow fear to keep you from accomplishing your goals and so that means just go out there and do it cause you never know who you impact, you never know
Ivy Hartman: Wisdom Publications, you’re obviously impacting people all over the world by publishing online, talk about what it’s like to have an event like this at Vision to Venture instinct to us
Miranda Bryant: Awesome, I think it’s informative, I think it helps you broaden your horizons, it takes you to another level, gets you out of your confidence zone, because I’m out of my confidence zone, I realized, and okay, I can network and learn more because you can’t do everything, so when you have this type of conference and this opportunity here, there’s big volume, cause there you have so many of the areas that can be supported in your business and you don’t have to worry about how ca that make this happen for me? So that’s what I like.
Ivy Hartman: And you touched in a little bit, but is there anything more you’d like to add about networking and it’s important, the role it plays in building that business
Miranda Bryant: Networking, I think, if you help others, it’ll help you access, so if you’re allowing others into your world, you’re actually growing and you’re expanding and is helping, it’s actually benefitting you versus not benefitting you; and the networking does that, and the benefit is not a negative, it’s a positive
Ivy Hartman: Kind of what you just said, kind of touch on what John Jenn has mentioned to me earlier, he said as small business owners, the best thing we can do is be lifelong learners
Miranda Bryant: Right, and never be afraid to learn, be open; like how Rich Molls said to be flexible in how you come across, the flexibility they’ve been willing to update it, to change it, to bring its caring and this type of conference brings it that information for you to keep your vague
Ivy Hartman: As a small business owner though, you do like you just gotten the time, it’s not enough hours a day to do all the things you need to do, so how do you take time to attend an event like this and then how you take time to implement the things you’ve learned?
Miranda Bryant: As they balance for me
Ivy Hartman: No, I mean, you’re an expert (--)
Miranda Bryant: Right, it’s balance, it’s balance, prioritizing and then making sure that you do something a little time each day, I like how John brought it about, the last speaker, he said how you write everyday, if you write everyday, if you do it everyday, eventually it’s going to come together; but you got to do something each day to make it work for you.
Ivy Hartman: And you’ve been seasoned kind of said that at the very beginning she taught about practicing classic piano everyday
Miranda Bryant: Yes
Ivy Hartman: And things like that. And what about your practice, is this something you know, with your poetry, and with your written work, do you something you have to practice on that (--)
Miranda Bryant: Yes, I’m learning how to read, bring it to life, see what gets someone else’s eye and then not lose myself in it; don’t want to be like any (--), I want to be creative and be me and this is who you see and this is a new thing and don’t be afraid to do it
Ivy Hartman: So can I too be a poet. Miranda, give us the information for Wisdom Publication
Miranda Bryant: Oh, the Wisdom Publication, my website is www.wisdompublications-stl.com, and you can contact me at Miranda@wisdompublications-stl.com, if ever you want to find any more information out about me.
Ivy Hartman: Look it up, look it up on the website. Alright Miranda, thanks for your time
Miranda Bryant: Thank you
Ivy Hartman: And definitely your vision to venture is going to be contagious especially through other women entrepreneurs and our viewers
