Small Tripods / Equipment to Stabilize Your Camera - Road Gear - Video ...
I’m Chris Christensen from the Amateur Traveler and welcome to Road Gear. Road Gear today is coming to you from San Francisco, from the Japanese tea garden. And we’re talking about camera stabilization. We’re talking about camera stabilization, tripods and the like. If you want your photos to come out well, the best thing to do is to stabilize your camera or your video camera while you’re taking pictures. One way to do it is obviously a tripod, and that’s what we’re using in this particular shot. A tripod gives you a nice steady shot, but it takes a little while to set up and it’s a pain to carry it with you. There’s a couple of other options, you can hand hold your camera, obviously, but you're gonna get something a little unstable when you’re holding out like this. And then, here’s another option from Quickpod, which is a telescoping camera arm. You can use to hold the camera a little farther away so you don’t get that quite that close up picture that you’re looking at, at the hand held camera. So that’s another good option. There’s also some options in smaller tripods that are much more portable. You can use a really small tripod, but unless you have a flat surface available, that’s really not gonna work that well. A better option is this which is an Ultrapod, which has a strap, a Velcro strap so that you can strap it to something and then if you have a flat surface, you can still use it as a tripod by unfolding out the legs and it’s just that easy. And now you got a small tripod. Once again, I’m your host, Chris Christensen, thank you for watching Road Gear, and try out the other Amateur Traveler shows, the weekly audio show as well as the twice monthly video show. Thanks for watching. Road Gear today is coming to you from San Francisco from the Japanese tea gardens. And there’s a bus going by.
