Amy: Thank you for joining us. According to my watch it’s time for another episode. My name is Amy Poehler and as you know our show celebrates extraordinary individuals who are changing the world by being themselves. With us today is a singer, actor, dancer, musician, feminist, entrepreneur and skate boarder, seven and three quarter-year-old Ruby Karp. Hi, Ruby.
Ruby: Hi.
Amy: Welcome.
Ruby: Welcome.
Amy: Thank you, what are you making?
Ruby: I'm making a heart family, see.
Amy: Cool, well along with Ruby today and myself we have my best friends the producer Meredith Walker, hello Meredith.
Meredith: Hi, Amy.
Amy: And also we have our musical director Amy Miles. Ruby, we’re going to talk about some serious stuff today. Are you ready? Feminism.
Ruby: I know.
Amy: You know what it is right?
Ruby: Yup, and I have a book about it right here. This book is a book I presented in kindergarten and I think the boys and girls are of equal value. That means if a boy can do the monkey rings so can a girl. That’s me doing the monkey rings.
Amy: For girls your age, don’t even know what that word means. Can you explain to them what it means?
Ruby: Feminism is something very, very important and all feminist women do not do that for us girls and us boys. We would not be like we are right now. The ladies who have created feminism for us like Rosa Parks and this women they help us women get the right tip off but here’s a thing. Even though it’s changed here for us in some other countries they haven’t changed.
Amy: Wow, can you believe that?
Ruby: I know.
Amy: Isn’t that strange that it hasn’t changed.
Ruby: I know.
Amy: What are some good signs of feminism at work, what are some signs when you can look around and you can see how feminism has helped people?
Ruby: Well, it definitely helps my mom. She’s all single woman and I'm just saying like it is very good and that's a big part of feminism for a single mother to be working and doing all that stuff.
Who is it?
Amy: It’s Amy and Meredith.
Ruby: Hi.
Amy: Hi, can we come in?
Ruby: Yeah.
Amy: Great.
Ruby: Right in here, this is my door I decorate it. These are my snow gloves. This is my certificate award and I got it in pre-kindergarten. Who wants to take the guessing game?
Amy: Oh, I do.
Ruby: Which one is mine?
Amy: I do. This one.
Ruby: Yes.
Amy: What do you got there in red? Ruby, what's that? Ruby not only accomplished feminist, activist, writer and deep thinker also an amazing artist. What's the title of that?
Ruby: Make your mind crazy
Amy: Make your mind crazy. Well, let me asked you something else, do you like skate boarding?
Ruby: Ruby, what makes a good friend?
Amy: A great friend is someone who you can count on and someone who is honest with you and someone who cares for you, for example let’s pretend I'm crying.
Ruby: Let’s pretend we’re all crying.
Amy: Now what?
Ruby: Your friend would be like this, “What's wrong, what's wrong? Can I help anything?” These are things I want to be when I grow up. Number one, a pop star, number two, a rock star, number three, a writer, number four, a doctor, number five, a vet and number six, a mommy.
Amy: I hear you have a song that you wrote. Tell us about this song before you sing tell us what's it about and—
Ruby: It’s about feminism.
Amy: Are you ready I'm going to count it in? Ready?
Ruby: Yeah.
Amy: One, two, three, four.

Wow, so were going to finish with one last question. It’s a very serious question and it’s one that I'm going to need you to pick either or you have to pick one, are you ready?
Ruby: Yes.
Amy: Miley Cyrus or High School Musical?
Ruby: Miley Cyrus.
Amy: Miley Cyrus.
Meredith: Miley Cyrus.
Amy: High School Musical. Okay, thank you so much for coming Ruby you were awesome and we’re going to end the show like we end all of our shows.
