Campfire song maybe a little tough to sing that way but I do want to talk just a little bit
about a pretty popular tune by Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. Now they’re style is really
pretty basic. Okay so he’s not going to wow you with his guitar playing but he came up
with some pretty cool riff type songs and they were fun to listen to you know so some of
them were fun to play so I’m going to show you a little bit about what goes in this. Now
most people know the basic things going on in smells like teen spirit are a couple of
power chords.
Well 4 power chords. Really simple situations a power chord is just of course just 2 notes
but we’re going to elaborate on that a little bit in just a couple of minutes. So it’s just
Neff power chord which would be the first word of the 6th string and 3rd fret of the 5th
string. When we too have Bb so you’re just going from your standard first fret moving
from the 6th string F to the first to the 5th string Bb. Then you have the same 2 shapes just
moving up so the 4th fret where we have Ab and Db a good time to well I don’t know if I
should touch on this right now in the Campfire Versions here but it’s important those
chords in this situation are called by their flat names.
It makes more sense because it really revolves around the key of F which has a flat in it.
Eb. This is not F to A# this is F to Bb because Bb is the 4th note of an F scale so once
we’re using a flat name to main chords stay with flats for the others so Ab and Db at the
4th fret. Now the little strumming pattern happens in the beginning is kind of rhythmic.
You can do it really simple though.
You can dress it up a little bit with a little bit of extra percussion really moving it along
with a speed of 16 if you want. It’s campfire song we’re not going too far into various
flashes from many things. You’re going to see some of my real strumming songs to get
more details on that.
