Smoking Intervention - Bill's Story Dr. Travis Stork: Let's go talk with your family. Bill: Okay. Dr. Travis Stork: You guys want to come on up? That’s pretty powerful. Bill: Very powerful. Dr. Travis Stork: And Kylie, I'm going to ask you, what would it mean to you to see this man that you love quit smoking so that he will be around. Kylie: You mean the world to me. It would mean more to me than anything. Dr. Travis Stork: This is your team right here but you have an extended team. We have more people waiting to cheer Bill on. We have his sister Mary on the phone or actually on Polycam from San Diego. So, Mary can you hear us? Mary: Yes, I can, Doctor. Dr. Travis Stork: Welcome to the show. We’re sitting up here and it’s all a very emotional movie about Bill’s life, and I know you have another message for Bill. Mary: Bill, I just want you to know that you are so important to me and to Christian and to our whole entire family. I am so proud to call you my brother. And our parents would be so proud of you, Bill because of what kind of a man you are. You're good hearted, you're hardworking, you're an excellent father, and you’re an awesome uncle. I couldn’t have asked for anything better in life to have a brother like you. We need you here with us, Bill, and I know you can do it. I love you. Dr. Travis Stork: Mary -- Bill: Thank you. Dr. Travis Stork: And we also have your brother Joe on the phone. Joe: Hi Bill! This is Joe here. I want to call up my encouragement on your effort to stop smoking. You and I both know and I know from my own experience how hard it is to stop, but I know you can do it, man. You mean a lot to me. I remember how stressed out I was when you had your heart surgery, and I don’t want anything to happen to you, and I want you to live a long, long life. I’ve had hard smoking is on the body from personal experience, and we both know that firsthand because it was a big factor in mom’s early death. So please, for all of us, do whatever you can to be healthy, and that includes quitting smoking. I'm going to have you to get one of those coffee and ash trays for your birthday, Bill.
