Srini Saripalli, and I welcome you back to gorichonline.com and on this video today I want to share with you a technique that has - it's a dirty, nasty technique. Long, long years ago I first found out this technique and I had been used it sparingly, but then I see more and more marketers talk about that in their products, but today I want to share this technique with you and I hope you will appreciate it and if you do, please leave me a comment on the blog and I will be more than happy to answer back to any of your questions you may have. Now again, some of the marketers maybe envy with me because this technique was found later on in their products, but then I am going ahead and sharing this one with you anyway.
So this is about retaining your subscribers for one more time. So if someone is very unhappy with your emails. Someone is getting lot of emails from you, they are very unhappy, they want to unsubscribe, this is the way to restrict them from unsubscribing, but then again, I am not telling you to do this, but this is what I am sharing with you, a lot of people do this. So if you are sending lot of broadcast emails then this is a dirty trick. But again, I would not - now use your own judgment if you want to use this trick. So that been said, let me walk you through this, let me bring up my autoresponder which is AWeber, the one that I use and I will show you how to do this.
Okay, I just logged in into my AWeber account which is the email service that I use and what I am going to do is I am going to write a broadcast email and I will show you this sneaky little trick, but then again, it's up to you, the way you use your judgment, you want to use it. What happens is the technique is somewhat like this. When you write an email and let's say you close it here, you say, to your continued Success and you say - you close that email here and what happens is the Unsubscribe link would show up right here, right at this point and what will happen is when people get the email, they will read this email, your subscribers will read this email and they will see this link, Unsubscribe link right here and they will click the unsubscribe link and they are going to opt out from your autoresponder.
Now the technique many marketers use and I found out long time ago was to insert a few blank lines here and then so that what happens is all this space is taken as some text lines. So when people will see your email, they do not know where the Unsubscribe link is, so they will have to scroll down to see, it's legally there, but it's not there. Now many marketers use this. I do not recommend this, but then if you are having a hard time finding out where the Unsubscribe link is, then definitely scroll down, it's there somewhere in the bottom But then a lot of people use this to reduce - you can definitely retain your subscriber for one more email but you are sending lot of irrelevant emails, then they will opt out sooner or later anyway.
So - even I have got emails from people saying, "Hey! If you want to opt out, how do we opt out from your email service?" And I come back and I respond saying listen, there is a link right below and just click on that and you will unsubscribe anyway. So if people want to unsubscribe, they will unsubscribe, there is no way to stop them, but then this is a trick that many marketers use to actually retain people for just one or couple of more emails. So I would say please use your judgment on how to use this technique, I am not recommending this in anyway but this is what people do.
So let's go ahead and fill this email. This is the email that I am going to send it to you in fact in the couple of hours here, but then let me type this email out. Let's say gorichonline.com, New Video: Sneaky Technique to Prevent opt-outs. Okay and what it will do is it will actually put your first name here, Today on this -- Just posted a new video online on gorichonline.com blog. I know many internet marketers will be annoyed with this email, but I decided to do share this technique with everyone anyway.
We are facing a lot of opt-outs from your autoresponder, then many find this video pretty interesting. I am not recommending this technique by any means, but I just wanted to give you a heads up on some of the techniques that internet marketers use to trick their subscribers. Okay, we already have, now let's go there, To your continued Success, this part is good, let's get few - so you see I am giving a few blank lines, so what happens is the Unsubscribe link would show up somewhere here so when people will get the email they will see the front part of that email they will never get to the bottom part.
I would like to keep this email even little more shorter so that my name would show up in the front page itself, but you get the point. So the more carriage returns you have or the more blank lines you have, the less are the chances that people are going to opt-out, but then again, this is a sneaky technique.
