What’s up everyone John Reckanger from techno buffalo here with an installation walk through for you of Mac OSX Snow Leopard. This is actually some and quite excited about and I’m looking forward to it since I was first tease. It seems like almost a year ago that the first sort of putting up hind sets no leopard would be coming. Nothing revolutionary but does offer a lot of very small twist and make it a really solid OS refines from installation to shut-down apple as I am saying so I’ll be the judge and lets go ahead and see how the inside process goes.
First I’ve done a full back-up via time machine I definitely recommend you do the same definite back-up your hard drive. So these suppose to freeze up a lot a hard drive space I’m curious how much. Let’s take a look at how much hard drive space actually are available. So go ahead and get info. You can see right here that I currently have 161.72 gigs of space available. So see that goes up or down. So go ahead and take this box and we will put it in definitely make sure you have back-ups. I can’t over emphasize that enough. I’m going to do just a simple upgrade like most people are probably end up doing. No for reformat or anything just a straight upgrade, right. So here is the disc, pop it in and let’s see what happens. I should also mention that the flows that are running windows be a boot camp does offers full new boot camp drivers see your boot camp 2.0. So you should see increase performance in Windows XP, Vista and 7.0. Some will be cutting a way as installation goes and after watching the full process. But I will tell you about how long it takes. So you get the installation that pops up right here. You get the install OSX, up show installing instructions, let’s see if this options installed are. Just out of curiosity. X code other than that I need to install right now. So we’ll go ahead and install MacOSX. To set-up the installation of Snow Leopard, click continue so definitely want to go ahead and do that. The software license agreement gives the read and goes ahead and gives it okay. Click agree click reline to be installed obviously on your hard drive. Now you got the option right here for customization. And it’s in the bottom left hand corner; you can see what is there. Listed there are some of the other options that are going to be or you want to show your printer support, additional fonts and language translations you may or may not want to install it because there’s quite a few of them. I’m just going to keep it Rosetta which will help you emulate some power PC, programs under much ready for or QuickTime7. So go ahead and hit OK something won’t work with the new quick time ten. So go ahead and hit install. Are you sure you want to install Mac OSX click install and click all the applications with head install, enter your password. So I just enter my password then enter and now it tells you that it’s installing and it’s going to take about 45 minutes. So I will leave this and if anything happens I will turn the camera back on so you guys can what’s going on.
So 26 minutes left and nothings’ happen but that little bar at the button seems keep moving. All right its getting bigger time. We got less than a minute remaining on the installation all now its taking lets say about 45 each minute so definitely under an hour but its not a short installation process. But it was relatively easy because you just accept the license agreement and let it go. All right so just change some installations complete, install succeeded Mac OSX was installed in your Macintosh hard drive disc, computer must restart lets go ahead and restart it and see if what it looks like. Now we got Snow Leopard fully installed.
So it says thank you back-up your computer, browse your files in color flow, email in style, chat using a fancy background and then organized your work. It’s quite nice that video looks almost the same as a leopard installation video with a little bit of flare at the end. So let’s go ahead and continue. All right see what else we’ve got. Looks like that’s it, we are now in snow leopard. Looks to be exact and same as leopard so far. Really go ahead and use the features and see what the difference is. Definitely stay tune for the channel for all kinds of leopard cover that will be going over all in the features seing how the speed works and see if there really is an advantage to upgrading. First thing I do want to check though is the hard drive. Let’s see if we got any space back. We go to get info and I’m not way a 182.87 gigabytes. You guys can see, actually I did get a decent [0606]. So if you are on a laptop and a smaller hard drive upgrading this leopard will definitely give you a little bit space back.
