Female: Right now, we’re on our way to Jasper, Alberta to get some good skiing in for a couple of days and we’re on the VIA Rail Snow Train.
The ViA Rail Snow Train starts in Edmonton, goes to Jasper, it’s about a five-hour train ride. You get excellent service, beautiful views.
Male: They have the bubble cars so you can see all the mounds. They have cool beverages nearby and for the weak stomachs, we also have barf bags.
Male: Jasper, we expect it to be pretty nice, pretty warm. I had a look at the trail map not too long ago, it looks pretty gnarly. Lots of alpine terrain and they look like they’ve got a nice park with some good rails and stuff. It should be fun cruising out with Chris and Jodie, it will be a good time.
Male: So obviously, up here in Marmot, we’re in the spring like conditions but they still have a lot of good coverage everywhere and surprisingly, we were able to find some powder up top so we’ve been enjoying ourselves.
Male: It’s my first time in Marmot Basin and I’m pretty blown away. The views are really nice. They’ve got a lot of terrain, a lot of vertical. They’ve got everything to offer as far as jumps, rocks, rails, you can't get bored around here.
Female: We rode a lot off of the Paradise Chair. We hiked about a good half hour I’d say.
Male: We made it all the way to the top, had a look around and came down. We’ve got some nice turns, it was really worth it.
Female: The vibe here in Marmot Basin is totally upbeat and the crowds have been basically nonexistent.
Male: It’s a pretty chill place. Lift lines are short. All the locals are super cool. Everybody’s inviting us out and wants us to go ride with them and stuff.
We put in a pretty solid day of riding. Gave it all day and kind of feeling a little tired so I think we’re going to head back to the Jasper Park Lodge and get into the hot tub and start some trouble.
Male: JP Ellis has some pretty fine amenities there. They’ve got the bathrobes in the room and then you just make, they call it a batman, he’ll pick you up in one of their limos, the little golf cart limousines and fire you off to the pools. So really, there’s no walking, you can just relax and soak it in.
Male: Day two, Marmot Basin, had a good rest last night, nice little hot tub, all rested up, going to get out there and kill it.
It’s a little tough though, can't see much, pretty gray so we figured we’d head on over to the park and see what we can find. The weekend in Marmot Basin turned out to be pretty fun. We got some sun and then some snow today so we got a bit of everything. Actually, you can still find some scotches here and there so yes, continually stoked on this place.
Male: The trip was really fun. I’ve never been on a train before so it’s pretty cool coming out that way. On the train, we went to good park jumps, good rails to good power turns. There’s not much more you can ask for in a weekend really.
