Hi, this is Frank Furness with Sales and Marketing Tips. We will be bringing you a number of new tips on how to find new business, how to prospect, how to close more sales.
This is Frank Furness, with your video, Sales Tip. Today I want to speak about clubs and social activities as a form of prospecting. When I came over to London 13 years ago, I didn't know anybody, but I thought the best way to meet people was to become socially mobile. I joined a golf club, I joined a cricket club, and within two weeks they said, we need somebody to coach the five year olds. I said, me, me, me. You don't need to be a brain surgeon to coach a five year old at cricket. Throw the ball, they hit it. Well done! That's coaching a five year old.
But every Friday night I would meet 85 sets of parents. Develop the relationship with them. They soon became clients.
Toastmasters International is the biggest nonprofit self-development organization in the world. I was involved with them for 13 years. It teaches you confidence and it teaches you how to speak. Who do you think joins these clubs? CEOs, Sales Directors, people that have to improve their speaking skills. So join these clubs and social activities. You will go out there, you will meet the right contacts, and you will have a lot of fun.
