This is Angus McKavish, a Scotsman and he is very popular on this town because this is a highland festival that we call Alma Michigan Scotland USA, they have the Scottish festival and in the festival and I sit him in a rocking chair and plays bagpipes and I have a tape of bagpipes playing and people go along and they blow out of the pipes not on the canter that is it because he is a dummy, right.
This is how Charles is, standing on the floor with his glasses and he has got a lot of mustache and because he is blowing on a pipe, he has this tiny mouth with little red inside and his eyes are deeply set to make people look older and look at puffy cheeks, he has got fake fur. This is an old Scottish hat if found, plaid, tie and he has got one of my jackets on that is on the contrast. He has got a vest and then a kilt. You want to know what is underneath the Scotsman kilt, it will be short, okay. And, then I am going to get regular legs and then the Scottish socks and I need little ribbons there, there is a little knife, he has a little knife in his, they have got some particular names. They have a pin and it has a knife and it is supposed to be in his sock.
Now since he cannot talk then I think I plan on making another body this with my outfit maybe but we have a different head and we are going to look at this. They are supposed to be alike again but they did not turn out alike so they are two different people. He has got fake fur and it is all the way down on the side. They can make sideburns and not have to make ears and put it down on the side. He has got glasses and a dimple here and a dimple there, sewn in, stitching right across the center and now he can talk where the other one can only play the bagpipe and I want to make many changeable heads but it did not turn out that way. I safety pinned right inside the head.
Let us go on to the next one, this my Chinese magician who is Foofoo Lingwho. He has a twin brother, Mefooling Yu and now he looks yellow, we could not find any yellow nylons so what we did was to use acrylic paint and I will be telling you the name of that later. He has a palette and black on the inside and then red that is glued all the way around. We tried different things, this is nothing but fake fur and he has about three different coats of yellow paint. I left the mouth plain in color, I do not know whether it should have been yellow or not. I could never make up my mind, I just got it painted. I put just blush on it right there and he got a mustache and I may put a little goatee on him and this is just string right here to make his eyes slide. His brother has his eyes apart because I sewed the opposite direction and little eyebrows which are just strings from there to there. But this is the magician, I both of them with black satin capes with satin on the inside and they have matching little costumes that I found. I thought a store was going out of business sometime, I bought a lot of Chinese costumes that I have and they have matching little costumes and they do not have shoes. They have just plain black material with their legs and feet are from and they were stuffed. And these are just stuffed hands, I did have them stuffed hands and they got pinned together. They can put kind of like, since they are Chinese put their hands together like they do. And the stitching all the way around here is kind of a like a little flatish face.
Okay, this is my German lady, Helga Vertrum and she is one of the original characters that I had and she has a lot of lipstick and fake fur hair kind of like of an up do. Little tiny glasses, little tiny eyes, and a little hat, and a dimple here and here with a lot of lipstick; and then red on the inside of her mouth from the red felt and I made her body and she got fine pearls. She is not very tall. A little bit over three feet, I have shawl on her, this is Peggy’s dress that was bought in fifth or sixth grade. And she is, instead of hands she has gloves because she is all dressed up. She has again like the Chinese with the black legs and then black patent shoes. I will give a little…
