Hey, everyone! I am Eric Rochow and this is Real World Green. Today, we are going to talk about the sun, because it's really bright out here today. Specifically, this cool lamp. This is made by Ikea. It's a Sunnan lamp or Sunnan lamp, I can't remember how to say it, I'm sorry, Ikea.
But they invited me to their 2010 catalog roll-out and they showed me a bunch of cool stuff, that they do and they are just a smart company. They have this flat pack technology, where they can take big stuff and fit it into flat boxes and they save a lot of energy and transportation costs.
What I really like is this is a solar powered light. The solar panel pops out with the battery, put it in the window cell, put this back in, like that, there you go. Kids can read at night.
What I really like about this is for everyone of these sold worldwide in the Ikea stores, Ikea will donate a more ruggedized version of this to UNICEF, and UNICEF will distribute them to children in developing countries.
And why is that important? Because in developing countries, a lot of the children have to work in the family's farm or they have to work in the family store and then at night, there are more than likely, it's dark and they don't have a place or a light that they can read with.
With this, they can read. So they can learn, they can educate themselves, they can better their families, and they can better the countries they are living. So, I think that's a good thing.
So, Sunnan lamp, here is a go for about 20 bucks in the store. I like this one, I can go camping with this, wherever I want. Alright, tell me what you think, realworldgreen.com. Make it a great day. See you.
