Solio Hybrid Charger - Tech Review
Male: We’ve looked a lot portable battery chargers this is great little devices to have on the go especially for us folks who have cell phones, iPod and we ran out of juice.
Female: Yes, MP3 players any sort of musical device.
Male: Well we want to have a look at something a little bit greener. This is something called the Solio Hybrid Charger and basically it’s a portable battery charger that you can juice up by plugging into the wall that will give you enough juice to power up a cell phone or example one and a half times. Something for iPods and digital cameras but what makes this a little bit different is that you can also power it up via solar energy as well.
Female: I think one of the biggest things about this is that not only is it kind of a more green technology focus but it allows people that are a little bit more out door and you don’t have—you know, if you cant take—if you're not going to be close to power this is something that you can take on the road, you can put—if you're in the sunshine up on a mountain or something charge it up for eight hours. Say you're going for a hiking and coming back down to your camp site you're going to be able to charge your phone over night and have a full battery the next day which is, its kind of a cool technology for those of us who cant get away of stair way from our technology. I know I'm kind of like that and I probably to be the type of person to use this.
Male: Yeah, there are no plug out let's in the trees yet, still far as I have seen.
Female: Although that would be fun that’s going to be our next invention.
Male: Exactly. So, it’s a lithium ion battery in here it takes about eight to 10 hours to charge fully but if you're in a pinch by taking this out here giving it bit a solar energy power you can get within hours up to about 20 minutes talk on a cell phone or think about almost and ounce with the iPod use as well.
Female: One of the other things to know about it is it’s a magnesium alloy case. So which means its quite durable so if your are using it out on—yeah, taking it rock climbing or something, like you're going up to the chief and drop it off the edge it might actually survive.
Male: And as far as plugging it into your devices so that was kind of the one down side of this one it—you’ve got to actually bring your entire cable like your USB cable from your iPod or your cell phone to plug into this. So you’ve got that whole extra cable. It does come with this iGo plug.
Female: Yes, this iGo adopter and something what needs is you can go out and buy an additional upgrade kit called the iGo and it comes with all sorts of devices adopters that will plug in to this one which comes with the Solio so that you can use it with multiple devices, otherwise it could be kind of stock. Find something that’s going to work, so you would, I would have recommend that if you are going to go with the product like this then you would also get the iGo upgrade.
Male: So, it’s called the Solio hybrid charger if you were looking for a portable battery charge pack but you can keep while you're on the go. You might want to have a look at this here a little more green than some of the other ones that we’ve looked at.
