Bowman here atBWone.com, I’m going to give you my snapshot review of the Sony DSC-T900.
Okay let’s go over some of the accessories that come with the T900. First of the accessories is a charger and battery, now this uses the type D battery which is been in passed some T series small from Sony I think all of the T series use the same type of a type D battery. The model number is NP PD1 and uses the same charge as well, I know that this definitely same battery in my old camera. The current camera I’m actually recording this video on the DSC-T200 uses so you can use that other battery if you want to but there’s spare battery here, I’ve got two batteries with me. The same type of charge and plug right in, plug right in to the wall.
You have about the same amount of battery life and I can name it from a 198 minutes depending on what type of a you know picture I’m doing to until it last roughly you get about a 180 to 220 shots going through the camera that’s depending on if you’re using flash of indoor scenes like that. The HD recording it’s going to be a little bit less on the battery life off it’s because you are doing HD recording. So then you pretty much going to get very similar battery life to what you got if you have a previous T series especially if you have the DSC-T200.
Next other accessory is a dock station. Now, the dock station which is definitely from previous Sony model which gave you the cable that had your AV side even the USB side to plug in your computer, you actually now put the camera right to the docking station like this and the reason you do that as you look on the back here, this way you have your audio connections. This is your DC end connections I believe you can actually buy a separate charger for in you can charge right from this docking station which I’m not positive that it does that but as well I’m assuming. This is your USB port here just where you can plug in to the computer and to download your pictures on to your computer.
This is your HDMI port, here this allows you to actually plug right in to an HD TV or your LCD TV and get your content full HD right on to the screen right from the camera that will fill 10 ATP right on, 10 ATP for still images right to the TV 720P free for an HD movie that you’re doing. And this is your standard AVG well if you don’t have any HD TV and what would you use for that is use USB cable here, that’s what you plug in the computer to download and this is your AV cable right here. There’s a lot here to plug in it if you don’t have an HD TV. There’s no HDMI cable that comes with this, you’d have to buy that separate.
That’s it for the dockings. Next you get the stylus, since this is now a touch screen camera does come with a stylus, you just plug the stylus right here on the side, clip right on there or hang on there and you can unclip it and you can use stylus if you want to. They’re meant to make pretty finger friendly so I prefer to use, I prefer to just touch it, and if you don’t wanna touch it you can use this. And finally you have your manuals, cables, manuals wanting information on cable; you just saw the cable there if you want the information and your CD here which close up picture and then browse it and music transfer if you want to transfer music actually on to the device. You can put music on there and accompany with this, your slide shows, because you could make slide shows right on to the camera. And the reason you would do that because it kind of want you to buy big storage card to kind of use it in the sense as if you are you know as sort of a picture viewer and staff like that. You can bring around with you.
So now let’s take a tour to the device itself. Let’s look here at the bottom that’s where you’ll find this switch right here to open up to see your battery and where your memory stick card goes, use the memory stick pro duo and I would definitely get one of the ultra speed one if you’re going to do any HD video recording or anything for that matter because it’s just nice to have a fast, the faster memory is it quickly saves, quick again to the next shot.
Then at the bottom is to where your ports is, where you plug in to the camera, plug the camera in to the base and the next right here is your tripod port. On the left side is where you have the strap hand hook, on the right side you don’t have anything. On the back here you have your 3.5-inch LCD touch screen, and at the top here is where it says 12.1 mega pixels for your camera, your on and off button, you have your button right here for your switch between photo, photo viewing and picture taking and this is a tugger right here to go between photos and video when you’re in picture camera mode and then here’s your wide and zoom in and zoom out, it’s all right there.
And then we switch here to the front and slide it down which all could turns on the device as well. You have here OX camera lens, you have a sensor there, you have your flash, and you have here a right and left stereo ports right there, you have a call sees lens inside of it and you have a four X optical zoom. So that’s pretty much a hardware tool there so this pretty much set for this video so our next video that we’re going to do is going to be actually going in to the menu and the UI system of the Sony DSC-T900 and really breaking it down, I can’t go through to show you how it works, how some test videos up and how some pictures of you to view, to see the quality so stay tune for that. So for now stay tune for part 2, remember to live your tech world in high definition.
