Sony Ericsson S500 – Review
This is Sony Ericcson S500 and its video previewed by PhoneArena.com. As this is a prototype unit we will show you only the interesting features and we’ll miss the standard things. The S500 with extravagant in black and green colors and it’s definitely not a business device. It’s just targeted to the youth. It’s a slider with pocket friendly dimensions and sprinkle mechanism for opening and closing but 0024 that you can’t really push it from the bottom and have to press the keys instead.
Here are the navigation keys including software buttons back and clear and two shortcuts. All of them are small but with good relief. The D-Pad is five key illuminated in green while the other keys have white backlit. The numeric keys are also small group to four rows by three still, they’re quite usable. On the two sides of the phone there are LED lights that blink and standby in different colors depending on the theme. When a call comes, they will all change in red, green, blue colors to indicate that. The QVGA display is 2.1 inch latitude and 262,000 colors and good contrast and brightness.
The software of the phone is similar to the one of other devices like the K800 for example and it’s not the newer version used in W910 and K850. The main menu can be personalized with flash themes difficult for Walkman phones. But the music player is from non-Walkman phones the one used in K800 for example. The camera interface is different one in portrait orientation and we take menu for the options. The camera is actually 2 megapixels without autofocus and the videos it takes are inclusive resolution with 15 frames which makes quite unusable.
The phonebook, organizer and messaging and other functionalities is difficult for Sony Ericcson phones.
