This is an exclusive video preview of the Sony Ericsson W910 brought to you by PhoneArena.com. W910 also announced a week ago Berlin and it’s scheduled for 24 of this year. But we are testing a prototype unit so please keep in mind that it’s designed in fact they might and will have some changes when the final versions are released.
And this Walkman is half inch, slim slider with aggressive look, thanks to the vivid red housing. It has excellent Sprint mechanism that helps you to open and close it. On the front slider is the almost 2.5 inch QVGA display which is bright unit with beautiful colors. Below is the keyboard. The small navigation keys and the D-Pad are in the top shell. And the flat hard to push the middle keys are in the bottom line. On the right are the volume rocker and the camera shortcut while on the top are the power key and the Walkman shortcut.
The W910 fits easily in the hand and in the pocket thanks to its small weight and 0103. The phone uses upgraded version of the Sony Ericsson UI for none Smartphones. The main menu is upgrade of 3X4 icons and the submenus are displayed as a list. You can use flash themes as on other Walkman phones. We’ll discuss only the new features and won’t show over the phonebook organizer and messaging as they’re the same as on other Walkman phones.
In the media menu you will see a new flash interface with options for photos and music and video. In the photos you will find the latest ones. They came on an album and pictures. The camera album to sort the photos by months and you will view thumbnails of the images. You can add package to the camera photos to groove them easily. Previewing the pictures you can start a slideshow with sound called expert story. In the audio you will find a music files that can be sorted by artist, album or playlist. Choose a song and the Walkman version 3 interface will start. You can view it as well as the home media menu in landscape mode. You can set the phone to automatically change the orientation for portrait to landscape when you rotate the device. But our prototype didn’t have that feature yet.
Another missing feature in the prototype is the Shake me which will change the song after you shake the device. Overall, there is nothing groundbreaking in the new Walkman 3.0 just right interface break that’s all. The camera interface is also slightly changed. The options menu now has small icons and use orange color in addition to the gray. You can easily go the view capture mode or preview mode and back.
Overall, this is the W910 form Sony Ericcson. It’s just slim and sexy slider with Walkman functionality and Sony Ericcson’s new user interface which upgrades just some things. Expect our full review of the device–just in the fourth quarter of the year. Don’t forget to see the text preview and the images over it at PhoneArena.com.
