Southern Border Beauty Secrets
Dr. Drew Ordon: Welcome Ole, Ola. This is our first south of the border spa day and
we’re loving it, so far so good. You know I can do a face lift but
let’s see if I can do a banana facial, right?
We know that bananas have so many good things in here, this
particular mixture of bananas, eggs and some corn starch. Once I
get my bananas, a little banana peel here, if you hold this please for
me.
Dr. Travis Stork: Hey, Drew, Drew time out.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Si senor Travis.
Dr. Travis Stork: Don’t quit your day job. Please.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Okay, clearly senor Travis.
Female 1: Alright.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Alright now.
Female 1: Oh no!
Dr. Drew Ordon: Call me in a week. No, we let this set for 30 minutes and her skin
is going to be great, so many great things in the banana peels and
there’s mixture, exfoliation, moisturizing, putting potassium in
there, a good stuff. I’ve got to move on. Don’t run off on me.
Alright, next station, it’s nice to see you.
Amy: How are you?
Dr. Drew Ordon: And I see the cactus over there, right?
Amy: Yes.
Dr. Drew Ordon: And I'm here with Amy from Beverly Hills.
Amy: Yes.
Dr. Drew Ordon: And we’re doing the special cactus treatment from the Four
Seasons in Punta Mita in Mexico, right?
Amy: Correct.
Dr. Drew Ordon: But you and I seem not to come from the Four Seasons in Beverly
Hills. Do I know where that is? Alright, so tell us what you’re
doing here.
Amy: Well, first of all we’re using cactus petals.
Dr. Drew Ordon: And so many great things in cactus.
Amy: Yes.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Aloe and agave.
Amy: Absolutely, full of vitamins and minerals, great for the skin,
hydrating the skin. These have also been scored and heated to
allow these oils to come out and then we’re going to just apply this
straight on to her back. That’s how we start the treatment, and this
is rejuvenating for her skin.
Dr. Drew Ordon: And she’s getting a little massage. I see you’re putting a little bit of
pressure.
Amy: Absolutely, a little bit of pressure just because they’re warm.
Dr. Drew Ordon: I want one of these.
Amy: And that’s going to heat the muscles and get ready for the
massage, so after we rejuvenate her entire body with these cactus
petals then we move into a therapeutic Swedish massage using our
Aloe Vera tequila lotion which actually does have a little Tequila
in it.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Okay.
Amy: So that’s just over here and this lotion is Aloe Vera which very
healing naturally restorative and the Tequila is warm so that can
just helps the body, continue to relax and relieve tension in the
muscles as well. So it’s a lovely treatment.
Dr. Drew Ordon: I'm getting relaxed. She’s listening to our talk.
Amy: And it just let’s guest feel rejuvenated and relax and it’s wonderful.
Dr. Drew Ordon: I believe you. Alright, moving on we’re going to go right here and
guess what’s next? What’s called the tuna can manicure, a cool
stuff. Are you ready?
Female 2: I'm ready.
Dr. Drew Ordon: Okay, now this contains some olive oil and some garlic, great
properties, anti-oxidants, moisturizers, put it all back in the hands.
Are you ready to dunk a little bit?
Female 2: Absolutely, but where’s your tuna can?
Dr. Drew Ordon: The tuna can is being heated on my little Bunsen burner back here.
Dr. Travis Stork: And the reason we actually share the tuna can manicure is actually
comes from Puerto Rico. We have Celia join us via PolyCam today
who was raised in Puerto Rico. She says she’s been doing this her
whole life, so how in the world do you start using that tuna can for
a manicure device?
Celia: Well, I grew up watching my mom getting her nails done that way
and she actually grew up watching her mom. And one day I had
her in, I thought it was a great thing and I’ve been doing it that
ever since.
Dr. Travis Stork: And it seems like we heard that this is actually led to a life long
passion and beauty treatment, is that right?
Celia: Yes, now I'm proud of my own salon and beautiful Windermere,
Florida and I do it every week and I have wonderful nails that’s
why I'm here.
Dr. Travis Stork: Well, thank you for sharing your secret with us Celia. We really
appreciate it, and also Drew thank you and the ladies for helping us
this hour some of those south of the border treatments. We
appreciate it.
