Spiced Nuts

Hi, everyone. Welcome to 2-Minute Chef. Today we’re going to be making a nice item to have at your bar at home or just to give it to your friends. We’re going to make some spiced nuts.

We’ll start with a pound of cashews and walnuts. We’ll just mix them together in a bowl. We have here one cup or about 15 tablespoons of sugar. To that, we’ll add one tablespoon of cayenne pepper, one tablespoon of paprika, about half of ground cumin, and another tablespoon of chili powder.

And once you have all the ingredients in the bowl, just kind of mix them together, get them all integrated and well mixed. Now for every pound of nuts that you make, you need two eggs. Now you’re not going to use the whole egg, you’re only just going to use the egg whites. Good way to crack this is just do it in half. Let the white separate, kind of go back and forth with the yoke with the two halves of the egg. I just kind of want to mix them around with your hands, don’t be shy with this, and get them all nicely coated.

Now when you have a nice coating on your nuts, just kind of drop in the whole sugar and spice mixture. In this part, make sure you have dry hands so none of this stuff sticks to you. You just kind of move it around so they can all get coated. Like I said, these are great to have in a bar just a nice little snack. There we go.

Now when the nuts are fully coated with the spices and sugar, just drop them on a sheet tray, and put them into a 203 oven for about an hour or so until they dry, so that the egg whites are kind of cooked off.
