I’ve got some cupcakes that capture the Halloween spirit. I’ve blend store about cupcake
mix with orange juice for deliciously unique flavor. Then I add chocolate chips and
candy orange pill before I bake them a hint of lemon and the frosting gives and exciting
accent to these chocolate orange cupcakes.
I’ve got quite of the kids coming over so, to make my life a little easier I’m using cake
mix and of course it’s chocolate flavored. And you are going to follow the direction on
the box. Half a cup of vegetable oil, three eggs, and instead of using water this is how I’m
going to source start to make it my own. I’m going to add orange juice and we’re gong to
add one and a third cups of orange juice. You know its Halloween we’re going to use
orange and everything. Orange and everything, orange and chocolate two of my favorite
combinations, let’s mix that together. Alright, let that happen, in the meantime I’ve got
my chocolate chips in my candied orange pill. Now, I’m going to show you a little trick,
I’ve got a cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips and a cup of candied arrange pills but I’ve
dice. Just going to add the candied orange pill to the chocolate chips and I’m going to
turn that off.
A lot of times when you add these types of things to cupcake, this sink to the bottom
right? So, here is a little tip. You just add about a teaspoon or so of the flour and just mix
it together and the flour helps to spend them in the middle of the cupcakes when you bite
into it. Then not all will sink to the bottom but there inside the cupcake. It’s so yummy,
now I’m just going to add it in and then we’re just going to gently mix it all together and
you just want to do it by hand because if you do it in there the puddle will break up all the
chocolate chips. I don’t want that, I want them to stay whole and then slowly melt inside
the cupcakes. I’ve line the muffin themes with this cute little gold lighters, you know this
sort will go to the Halloween theme, chocolate and gold together. And I’m using a little
ice cream scope just to make sure that each cupcake has the same amount of filling.
We’re just going to fill them about three quarters of the way up and then to bake them
just follow the directions on the box.
While like cupcakes finish cooling I’m going to start on my icing and I’m just going to
use two cups of powder sugar also known as confectioner sugar and I loved it because it’s
so fine so it makes a really smooth icing. And we’re going to add a little bit of butter,
unsalted soften half of stick of butter. And also I’m going to add oranges, these give us
one of the nice aromas, it’s got this wonderful essential oils are just packed with lots of
flavors. And I’m going to add just a couple of tablespoons of orange juice, just a little bit
just the hint of orange. And now we’re going to just clean everything together just until
the icing is really smooth, a little faster. There we go, and I’m going to separate because
I’m going to make some for the kids and some for the adults. Because I’m going to add a
little something special for the adult cupcakes, here we go. So, here we go, a little bit of
fresh lemon juice, cup of tablespoons to work and to that will just mix that all up. Now,
you don’t go to add a little bit of lemon shallow now, oh that’s smell so good. Lemon
shallow is lemon liquor and it’s made from the fame Sorrento lemons, just a little bit and
just for a hint. You know make a little extra special and let’s frost the cupcake.
You see how pretty that’s looks and you can see little bits of orange that’s right in there.
And the way I’ll know the differences, you don’t get a candy orange pill whole and the
kids are going to get some chocolate can be orange pill just like that.
