Sport Compact Car Comparison Part 3
So we just finished round two of this comparison test of the racetrack. Now we are out
right here on public road for round three on this eight car automobile sporting car test. It
is out here where each editor will assess the vehicle’s ride, handling, steering, power
train, brakes and overall interior comfort.
So out here at the public road course—well the Dodge Caliber and the mini club men are
being exposed as the weaker links to the group. Both posses really stiff suspensions and
the Dodge especially showing too exhibit little too much body roll and too much sliding
movement. At here the Silver a 265 horsepower flat four engine at so much mid-range
torque, it can really even third to fourth gear making it totally effortless to drive to the
twisty bends, where as in this blue Cobalt SS has really athletic chassis that allows you
attack the curves and it doesn’t beat you up at all.
So after three rounds of exhausted testing including instrument testing, hot lapping at the
race track and the evaluation on public roads, the winner of our eight car. Think for your
comparison test is the 2009 Volkswagen GTI.
The GTI wins our bank for the comparison test simply because it was the best all around
the cars here. It is not the quickest and dragster or at the track, it is not the least expensive
or the most powerful. But, thanks to a mighty two-liter turbo and sleek DST transmission,
it was one of the most enjoyable cars to drive on the street and it is still a treat of the
track. Plus it offers some attractive, rich and ergonomic material wrapped in a handsome
very useful package. That is why the GTI reigns as the best when it comes to banging—
