Taniya Nayak: Because guest bedrooms aren’t use everyday, they are the perfect place that break
out and goal vault. Try adding a vibrant accent wall, a romantic canopy, a fall
headboard and some fresh new bedding. I did this guest bedroom for under a $100
and in half a day. My guests are never going want to leave. A lot of times people
look at there guest bedroom as an after thought, this guest bedroom is missing a
focal point so I’m creating one behind the bed. First, I’m painting the wall a fire
orange, painting a bright accent wall adds a dramatic contemporary fill to an
otherwise plain and relatively features this room. For the greatest impact, use of
vivid color like the burned orange I’m using in this blend guest room and it only
cost 20 bucks a gallon. This color really pops now it’s time for the headboard, I’m
using something that’s a little bit out of the box, I picked up this placemats on sale
$5 at piece that’s $45 for a fabulous headboard. I choose round placemats for this
bedroom and it will help breakup all of the straight lines in the room and it will
also create a negative design in between each of the circles. The easiest way to do
this is to find your center point but the first one in and build off of it is that easy.
Each mat is held in place with two finishing nails, the small heads on this nails
make them almost invisible on the wall. It only took me 30 minutes to measure
and hangs the headboard. How cool is that? With the headboard up the bed back
in place and it’s time for some new bedding. The base can be an awesome way to
same money instead of buying a brand new comforter. It’s been two hours and
I’m almost done but to really give my guest a peaceful retreat I’m creating the
impression of the canopy, it’s a great way to add a classic twist to this
contemporary space. I picked up some inexpensive chairs and decorative chain;
I’m trading them through hooking them on and just attach the chain to the hook
for some instant drama no tools required. For less than the cost of one night in the
luxury hotel, I have created this glamorous guest bedroom, I added drama by
hanging share curtains to create the illusion of the canopy, brightening a boring
wall and building the headboard out of place mats. I did it all for under a $100 and
in less than half a day.
