In this second episode, I’m going to show you how to install Spyware Doctor with Antivirus so your computer is using the best defense possible against spyware and viruses. If you’ve already installed Spyware Doctor with Antivirus, you can skip ahead to episode 3 to learn how to use it. If you still haven’t installed the program, let’s get started.
First, confirm that you’re running Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 because Spyware Doctor with Antivirus is optimized for these current operating systems. Also, be sure to uninstall any other antivirus programs on your computer. The rule of thumb is that you should only run one antivirus program on your system at a time to avoid conflicts.
Now, let’s install Spyware Doctor with Antivirus. Locate the installation file that you downloaded and double click it. Windows 7 and Windows Vista users will see a user account control window alert. Choose yes to proceed.
Next, you’ll see a welcome screen. Click next to start the installation. Read the license agreement and click the “I accept the agreement” button if you accept the terms. If you choose not to, the installer will not quit.
Next, it will show you the folder where it will install the program. Leave this as is unless you have a compelling reason to change it. If your system does not have enough room to install the program, you will be notified at this point. Cancel the installation then free up some space on your computer by deleting unwanted files. After that, you will have to restart the installer. Click “Next”. If you’d like an icon placed on your desktop, leave this box checked. It’s also highly recommended that you also choose to automatically install updates. Click install to proceed.
Follow the installation wizard along to its completion. If you run into any snags, the best way to work through them is to run the installation in windows safe mode. This diagnostic mode allows you to bypass any strange installation problems that may be caused by your system.
To get into safe mode, restart your computer, tap F8 a few times until your computer beeps. Then, log into an administrator account. Locate the installation file and run it.
After the main installation is completed, you will be asked if you’d like to run smart updates. Choose this option to get that latest malware definitions installed on your system.
