Hey stampers! Today I’m going to show you how to make the Squash Book. It’s a paper scrap book and I made this one a long, long time ago as you can tell by the stamp images and the wheel and the ribbon. But when you open a squash book, you have photos and you also have areas to journal or whatever—so let me show you how to do that today.
Okay, so you’re going to start with 3 pieces of card stack and is cut at 8 ½ x 8 ½ and you’re going to fold all three pieces the way I’m going to show you right now. So you’re going to take one of your pieces and you’re going to fold it in a half and then open it up and then you’re going to fold it in a half the other way. And then open it up and then you’re going to take one corner, the point to the other opposite point so you just going to do that.
Okay, so then once you get all your three pieces done, which I already did my other two, same way, and what you’re going to do is you’re going to—you’re going to notice there’s four squares but then there is a diagonal through two of them. You’re going to take the whole square and you’re going to put it inside of your other piece of card stack here. Square, un-square, and you want to have your points point off. So I’m going to do this here. So what you’re going to do is you just going to fold in your points, so it looks like that and then fold that down to make a flat square in the front, okay?
Okay so you want one point going up and then one point fold them all in here, let me do the other one while we’re at it. Okay, so we got the three squares with those three pieces of card stack here. So you’re going to have two of your pieces with the points going up and then one point going down. So what you’re going to do is you just going to take your side square right here, let’s just do another time here, I’m just going to apply some adhesive here on one of the squares. This is without the diagonal, ‘cause the diagonal ones are here. If you just want one square and then you’re going to take the other full square and you’re going to lay that in that square line like that.
Okay so then you’re going to work it this corner, apply some adhesive to that one and you’re going to have the points going up. So again you take the other full square and apply that in to your square line area right there. Okay, so this is what your book should look like. Two points on the ends up and one point down. Okay then, so just going to start folding your book together like that and then there is your squash book. And then to decorate it, I’m using the Candy Lane, and these squares were cut 4 x 4 and you can use however many you want. Like if I attach this one, use my other one that I started here to make it that okay so let’s get this one right here.
Okay, here is one that I already started at and these are all 4 x 4 squares and what I did here with the 4 x 4 piece of designer papers, all I did is I just took the designer paper and I just lines this up on my cutter point to point and then I just cut in half and also would fit perfectly inside your diagonal boxes here. So only go ahead and attach some of those and then you will add your pictures, a little journal in. Okay, so you get the idea.
And then for the front of your book, I want to add in just layered design at the front cover. You can actually add another piece of designer paper and then if you want to use a stamp image, and then underneath that is where I would attach the ribbon so you can tie it shut, okay?
