Stances in Skateboarding

Hey guys, this is Keir Johnson with Catalyst Skate Boards, showing you the fundamentals of skate boarding today.

The first thing we’re going to get into is stance. There are two different stances in skating. The first one’s regular which is with your left foot forward. Basically, stance and skating is like any board sport. People are left handed or right handed. I’m personally regular stance myself.

Regular stance is this way. The other stance skating is goofy. Goofy is basically with your right foot forward. It’s another stance about half the people in skating are regular and half were goofy. So this is a goofy stance. Whatever you most comfortable with just stand on a board, and just go away from there, you might even change up. So that’s a stance.
