Hi! I’m Bob Schmidt with Home Remodel Workshop. The toilet seat, not unlike everything else in your house, eventually, it wears out, it gets cracked or it just does not work properly anymore and it has to be replaced. When making that decision to replace your toilet seat, keep in mind there are some special features available. Yes, special features even on toilet seats. I’ll show you what they are. Let’s get to work.
What I have here is a standard operational toilet seat—you lift it up, you let it down, and you let it down. Of course if it’s in the middle of the night and you have little kids or your bathroom is adjacent to your bedroom and somebody’s hand slips, you get that wonderful noise that we all love followed by that other wonderful noise—“Hey! Don’t slam the toilet seat!” I got a perfect solution for that.
To remove the old toilet seat, it’s pretty simple. On the back here, we all know that there are a couple of little snap down flaps, you pop them up, you grab your screw driver, you reach underneath, and you back this plastic screw out. Usually it’s plastic and the nut will come right off and the toilet seat will come right off. Now, it’s just basically a Philips head screw driver. The old seat came off by just reaching under there with the nuts and popping it off and the new went back on. Now, it looks pretty much just like the other one did right? There’s a couple of little difference with this one. With this one, basically, you drop the toilet seat down, you drop the lid down, and they close very slowly all by themselves keeping the little kids from having accidents and keeping that nasty yell of “Quit slamming the toilet seat!”
Now, I don’t care how well you keep your bathroom clean. I’m sure you noticed when you popped these caps up and took the screw out, you noticed that all these little joints down in here is pretty nasty. What’s really nice about this toilet seat, not only does it slowly closes so that you don’t have that slam, but this hinge area which is always so difficult to clean with this tile toilet seat, you simply press these two dudes to the left, stand over top of it a little bit pressing down, pull straight up on it and it’s easy to clean this area and you can take this to the stationary tub if you want to and give it a good soaking.
So there you go, the slow close and easy clean toilet seat. It can make your life just a little happier at home and make your toilet a little bit cleaner.
