Female: Let us move on to the standing series of waking energy so all of these exercises are derived from Qigong which means that you are going to want to have your feet mostly parallel and your knees soft, softer than you think. Your quads might fatigue after a short time so if that is true feel free to straighten your legs a little bit more but this entire series will help you to build unbelievable stamina in your legs. So soften the knees. Let us take a deep breathe in. Exhale and start to mobilize the spine with a standing spinal twist. Here we go.
Turning the spine just very gently side to side start to experience the arm swinging to your sides, feel the weight of the hands. So if you are doing this in the morning which is always a good idea because it is young which means rising or waking, hence the name. I know my spine is always pretty stiff in the morning so I like to go gently at first and then I start to increase the torque of the twist. And I allow my arms to fly up and around. Do you know what else this does? This sends fresh blood to your fingertips and then try to see the wall behind you as you continue to twist and come back to the front just stand and take stock of what that simple spinal twist just in for your body.
Your entire spinal column is now open to receive that beautiful earth energy we spoke about in the sitting series.
