Stanton SCS-1d Scratching Demo
Ty: All right. Hey guys this is DJ Ty from agiprodj.com here at NAMM 2009. I am at Stanton booth with Craig and he got something really cool to show you now. The brand new SCS-1d is out. This thing is amazing. A lot of people do not know what kind of resolution this thing is going to do and Craig got this top secret, man. Makes sure you are sitting down. Make sure you got a thing for your shorts. Watch this thing can do or they will do.
Craig: All right, so the challenge was, when making our controller we did not really have any software on the market at that time that we could rely on to accurately represent what was coming off for the platter. So we wrote an internal tool, it is for development use only, but it is a VST allowing scratching inside an Ableton.
All we have here, this is the interface for it. You can see that there are 4000 counts of resolution around our platter, the representation on screen of the platter here. Now, one of the things that is possible on this, I am not turntable or so. Do not rely on my skills for this, but one of the things that we have seen that is possible are very, very like advanced platter techniques like rubs, using these lasers. They all come off very well with this plug in so we know that the potential is there. One software, so like taking advantage of high speed and hi resolution mini data.
For right now, it is not available to the public. It is for development use only. It is just for us so that we can make sure we are going in the right direction with this hardware. But I am sure that we are going to start seeing implementation for this kind of data in the nearing of future and that is what is exciting. That is it. That is the top secret demo only VST scratch plug in for Ableton Live. This is Agipro audio.
