Stomach Ulcer Facts

David Rubin: Thalia, a stomach ulcer or gastric ulcer can cause a variety of different symptoms in someone if he has it. It can cause nausea especially when you wake up in the morning or after eating a meal. It might make you feel full earlier or it may just cause pain in the upper part of the abdomen.

Sometimes stomach ulcers can bleed and people may notice blood in their stool or blood when they vomit. The signs of an ulcer from a doctor's perspective may be pain when the abdomen is felt by the doctor or if we use an endoscope or a camera to look into stomach we may obviously see a break in the lining of the stomach. So when we know someone has an ulcer in the stomach we often treat with antacid therapies or even treat with antibiotics if we think the ulcer was caused by a type of bacteria.
