Natalie: And now get ready for some fun facts about the moon.
One, the moon's composition is actually quite strange. Normally when a planet is formed the heavier elements are in the core and the lighter elements are on the surface. However the moon is the exact opposite. The lighter elements are in the core and the heavier elements like titanium and other metals make up the surface of the moon.
Two, did you know that someone is actually been buried on the moon. In way Dr. Eugene Schumacher's life long dream was always to go to the moon. However he was denied becoming a national because of his medical conditions. So when he died in 1999 they took his cremated ashes and put it on a lunar spacecraft. They sent it up to the moon and crashed it into a crater. So in essence he fulfilled his lifelong dream of going to the moon. Well kind of.
Three, one small step for man, one giant step for mankind. The shoe prints that Neil Armstrong left on the surface of the moon will stay there for over 10 million years.
Four, the moon's crust is a lot harder than we had first expected. Astronauts tried to drill hole into the crust and found that it was extremely hard because the crust is made up of hard metals.
Five, the moon doesn't have volcanoes. However it does have moon quakes. Scientist has been able to report these moon quakes in gaseous eruptions and they are saying that they cause red glowing lights sometimes. Now nobody knows where these red glowing lights come from.
Six, Apollo 15 was the first mission to use a lunar rover. However, the lunar rover only went about 10.56 miles per hour.
Seven, light is on the moon. People have been observing unexplainable lights on the moon since before Plato was around. NASA put out a report that says between the years of 1540 and 1967 they saw over 570 accounts of unexplainable lights and flashes on the moon.
Eight, there is not enough gravity on the moon for its size, and because of that, some scientists have theorized that the moon might be hollow.
Nine, we normally do not associate the moon with having weather or water. However, lunar instruments have detected a water vapor cloud kind of like fog which covered a 100 square mile area on the moon and lasted for about 14 hours.
What makes our planet so special? Facts about earth. And in another video, strange animal facts. Call me -- and in the future video, facts about the bra. I am just kidding. Always laughing at me. I am completely serious. Viewing the moon from earth the moon looks round however the shape of the moon is actually more like an egg. Can't work under this pressure cell phones?
