Welcome to my podcast, now today I am making Strawberry and Almond Trifle, it's very easy, very simple but delicious, and even the kids can give you a hand into this one, it's that simple.
First of all the ingredients, here I've got vanilla extract, I have got some amaretto, cream cheese, crushed strawberries, whole strawberries, Swiss roll, flat almonds and condensed milk. Very, very easy.
First thing to do is to cut Swiss roll, so let's move that away and cut this into generous slices and pot it into your dish or your dishes, it's up to you, so it's quite decorative, so I like to just pot mine on the either side of the bowl like this, or in individual dishes up to you. Trifle is one of the things I love to serve to everybody, so stick on the table and it will tuck in.
To that I am going to add some amaretto, I am just going to put two or three spoons onto the sponge. Don't get mad, but just so it soaks in like that.
Now here I've got some whole strawberries, nice small strawberries, pot into a bowl and I have crushed some strawberries with a fork, or rolling pin whatever, and just mash them up and mix those two together, so you get a bit of a sauce thing, and we've also got whole fruit as well.
Another way of doing this, you've got to squeeze lemon juice on that, little bit of sugar, putting up juice as well in about half an hour, so just mix them together. Alright, so pour in, pot in the strawberries like that. And just put it down, what will happen is when that juice gets through it end up seeking right down through here, little bit delicious so let me just put that like that.
Next job, here I have got some cream cheese, and a little touch on that, probably a cap full, a cap full and a half something like that which is about a teaspoon and a bit, I like vanilla extract so I will put a little more into that. Roughly six tablespoons of condensed milk, six to eight tablespoons up to, I like condensed milk so I will put a bit more. We just need to bring that together. Now what you need to do is just whisk this until all the lumps go from the cream cheese, it will take about 20 seconds something like that.
And then just pile this on top of the strawberries and sponge, look at that, it's going to get more out of the bowl, don't want to waste it up. I think let that chill for say 15-20 minutes, just bring the flakes together, and then sprinkle on few almonds and then it is the simplest trifle ever. Delicious, look at that.
