Hello! And thanks for checking out fixmyrecipe.com, Chef Billy Parisi here. Our next recipe fix comes from Steve O'Reilly of Huntington, West Virginia. He threw send us an e-mail at chef@fixmyrecipe.com. He seems to be having a lot of problem with his Strawberry Shortcake; his biscuits are coming up with little dry and un-sweep. Don't worry, we got you covered right here Steve.
Steve, follow closely, this is a really simple recipe. All we are going to add our drying ingredients, make a little well, throw our egg and the milk in there, pop it in the oven, wait to see what happens.
Add our flour, some of our granulated sugar, little bit of backing powder helps this bad boy rise, and a simple pinch of salt for little flavour. Simply just going to mix our dry ingredients together. We are going to cut in our shortening with a pastry blender.
Okay Steve, now we are simply going to add our one egg into our milk, make a little well right in our flour, hit it right in, stir it in, pop it in the oven. Okay Steve, let's make a little well in our flour, add our wet ingredients, take it from there.
Now, we are simply going to stir it right in right him. But you do not want to over stir just enough to incorporate all of our ingredients.
Okay Steve, lets add our dough right into our flour cake pan, do not forget to flour so nothing sticks.
Okay Steve, here is where you might be going wrong. Your recipes says 425 degrees, we are going to bring it slightly down to about 350, it's going to be nice and moist. I think now you are very pleased with our result.
Okay, Steve, while your dough is in the oven, we are going to make some fresh whip cream. I don't have any time for that quack mess and neither should you; follow me. Little bit of heavy cream, little bit of sugar, and for a little bit more flavor, little bit of Vanilla extract. Alright Mr. O'Reilly, this whipped cream is going to be so clutch in our Strawberry Shortcake.
Alright Steve, our dough is just about finished and this kitchen smells incredible. Check this
out. Oh My sweet Lord!
Alright Steve, our Strawberry Shortcake is all layered up and my mouth is literally just watering. I cannot wait to taste this.
Now, if you want to little bit more flavor, add a little bit of reduced balsamic. All you have to
do is take balsamic vinegar, cook it on high heat till 234 degrees and simply cooled it off, it's absolutely perfect and they will add little toying to the Strawberry Shortcake. Come back tomorrow to fixmyrecipe.com. I can't wait any longer. I got to taste this.
