Hey guys, thanks for tuning in. Today I’m going to be doing a review on a penlight, it’s a stream light stylus and also I’ll be reviewing a stream light sharp spot, which is this thing. It is a focuser that goes on the end of the light, the stream light itself, the penlight was $15.00, and the focuser was $5.00 extra. They do sell this together, that would cost you about $20.00, and I believe that one is camouflaged.
I guess first I’ll go over some of the specs on the light; it has a 60-hour runtime. Its water resistant, it weights 1.2 ounces without the focuser. It’s made of aircraft aluminum, it takes three quadruple A batteries, which I didn’t even know existed. I went to a few stores for back up batteries and none of them have it, so I’m going to probably to order them up in the internet. The pen light came with a glare guard and I’m going to demonstrate all these things in a minute. The stream light is a very good company and they make high quality products. It has an excellent warranty and $15.00 might be a little expensive for a penlight but I think its worth for the quality that you’re getting.
And so this is how it will look when you but it in the store, this is the package, yeah I already opened it but I opened it nicely and stuck it back in the package so you guys can see what it would look like. It’s got information about it on the back and everything. The focuser or the sharp spot came with this in a little baggy and that’s basically what the packaging looks like and now I’ll take it out of the package so you guys can see it a little closer. It’s a green LED actually, which I like that a lot actually. I’ll show you more in a second with the light off and everything with the focuser but for now, that’s that.
The green is good because it’s easy on your eyes at night; it will help you eyes keep adjusted to the night vision. It has momentary blink, you can do that by just pressing the button at the end of it or it has constant on, you can turn that on by just turning this right here to the right and it will stay on. Also, it came with a clip just like any regular pen would. The thing I don’t like about the clip is it moves around, if you can see that, it moves around and I don’t like that, because it’s not as secure as it could be.
Also, it has good grips right down here. It’s not very bright for a light but it is a pen light, so you have to take into consideration and I also I forgot to mention that there could be some situations where you might not want a super bright light. If you want to be undetected for any reason, so this would be good for map reading, compass reading, looking through your bag, your pack, if you drop something on the ground, many different uses and people wont see you because its not super bright.
So now I will demonstrate the light in total darkness, just to demonstrate I’m going to use my blade tech catalogue so—and this is constant on the setting. As you can see its bright enough to do your simple task. Probably not to navigate through woods at night but again map reading, compass reading, looking through your pack for stuff. Next, I’ll show you the difference between this; this is just without anything on the tip and with the focuser. Again this is the stream light focuser and you just insert it into this end right here and what it does is it intensifies the light in a smaller spot.
So it works pretty good I think, the next attachment that I will show you is the glare guard that came with it, which is this little plastic piece. There is no lens in it or anything, its just a glare guard like they say and its just a little plastic piece and this is at regular without the glare guard. This is it with the glare guard, so I think it kind of takes away some of the light but again this would be good if you didn’t want to be detected somewhere using the light. This would help not to give away your position, and now without any attachment on I’ll demonstrate the momentary blink button or the momentary on.
Its just pressing the button on the back let me turn my regular light on, this button right here on the back. And over all I think this is an excellent pen light, it’s not very expensive at $15.00, again $5.00 for the focuser, which you might find not necessary. Stream light again is a very good well-known brand with high quality products and I recommend this to anybody whose looking for a smaller light. And that’s about it for now, thank you for watching.
