Hey guys, how’s it going? Today I’m going to be doing a tactical flash light gear review. What you’re looking at is a stream light brand stylus pro, first I’m going to talk about some of the specifications of the light then I’ll tell my opinion of it and also I’ll be comparing it a little bit against the original stream light stylus.
The stylus pro is about five, a quarter inches long and about half an inch wide. It takes two triple A batteries, which is a common battery, so that’s definitely a positive trait. It’s a flux LED and it has a seven point five hour run time. The LED typically emits 24 lumens, which is excellent if you ask me because that’s come bearable to the twin task one L, which is a bigger flashlight with more powerful batteries, and three LED’s. So for a light of this size, 24 lumens is pretty bright especially with a 7.5-hour run time.
This light is O-ring sealed on the parts where it opens up to put the battery in and that basically means that it’s waterproof. I wouldn’t say it’s fully waterproof, I wouldn’t submerge it in water for a long time but if it’s raining out its going to keep working for you. The Stylus pro has a very handy pocket clip, on the package it says that’s its unbreakable, I guess we’ll find out as time goes on but it seems very strong and very durable. Also to activate the light, there’s a button on the tail cap, you have a momentary on mode, just by tapping the button lightly and then you have a constant on mode and once you click down far enough, it will stay on.
The light also came with a sheet or a holster for the light, as you can see it has a belt loop. The belt loops not very big, it could be bigger to fit bigger belts, wider belts. Also it’s not the greatest quality sheet, it’s not the greatest quality nylon, it definitely could be better. If you’re familiar with the Mag light sheets or holsters, those are much better quality than this. Now I’ll talk a little bit about my opinion of this light and some of the applications where you could use this light. This light would be an excellent light to add to your basic survival kit with some extra batteries. I think it would be excellent for a map reading. It would definitely allow you to navigate a trail at night. Also tactically, this would be a good light if you thought you heard strange noises in your house and it was all dark throughout your house or you don’t have power or something and you want to clear each room. You could definitely do it with this light, in fact, I already tried that and it works really good.
I’m not saying this is the best light to clear your house with but it would definitely work if you need it too. I really like this light over all, I think it’s much better than the stylus—the original stylus. This cost me about $23.00 and this one cost me about $17.00. I would say definitely spend the extra money to get the stylus pro and if you already have the stream light stylus original, I would say go ahead and get the pro anyways. The one thing that I don’t like about this light, which I think, could be improved, I think its big enough to be able to do this is have a rotating bezel to focus the light. You can't do that with this, it’s just what you see is what you get nor can you do it with the original stylus.
Now I’m going to do a demo and comparison of the two lights, the stylus pro and the original stylus. The first one I’m going to do is the original stylus and by the way, this one has a green LED, which is a good feature because that saves your night vision at night. So that’s the original stylus and this is the much brighter stylus pro. Over all I think the stream light stylus pro is an excellent value. It’s well built, very solid, it’s very bright, it has a 7.5 run time, it uses common triple A batteries. The stylus original uses quadruple A batteries, which are more expensive and harder to find, so if you’re looking to buy either of these two flashlights, I would say spend the extra couple bucks and go with the stylus pro. it’s an excellent flashlight, I would definitely recommend it, and that’s basically it. thank you guys for watching, thanks for the support and I’ll talk to you later, bye.
