Right, let me show this with the matches.

What I want you to do, open up the match box yourself, and can you take out about 5 or 6 matches and just lay them out, just there,

It is great. There are 4, a couple more, one more,

Just push any one forward,

That was great. The rest of these, just hold them in your hand okay? And put your other hand over the top.

That was great.

Now, check this out. It is really strange, watch?

(Lighting up a match)

Do not look away. This is really weird, watch,

Expectator: Where did it go?

Man: Open you hand?

Expectator: Oh my god!

That is why magic’s scares me.

(Break)

Okay, this is the explanation for Match Back 2, the original match back.

All you need to do is pre-burn a match. You light one of these matches up,

And I let it burn quite a bit unto the wood,

Blow that out,

And let that cool down.

You can keep this in you pocket now until you actually ready to perform the effect.

You ask them for their box of matches or you can introduce the box of matches unto to the table yourself.

But when you start the effect, the match that you have pre-burned needs to be palmed, do not worry about it.

If you worry about, people will know that you are palming, they will know something’s wrong. You have to make sure that all your shoulders are relaxed.

Walk around, do your everyday things but with the item concealed.

Now, this is how the pre-burned match is actually concealed before you start the effect.

This is the palm position.

You are going to use the fleshy part of the skin here,

And the middle part of the second finger and literary, it is clipped in this position.

And you just keep pressure, just there,

And this is great. It is a good way to actually palm the match because you can be nice and relax. You can just stand there. You can tell the expectator what to do. You just keep the arms nice and relax by the side.

In fact, the nice thing about this is, as we start the effect, the expectator is going to do everything. And you ask them to take out 5 or 6 matches.

I do not specify exactly how many so, they take out a few matches.

And obviously, they put the box back together themselves.

Now, you ask them push forward one match away from the group of matches, so they do that and push forward one match.

Now remember at this point, all the attention is on this match,

They are not really watching what you are about to do here. You have just going to be nice and casual about this.

Do not make a move out of it. Do not worry about it.

All you are going to do is add the pre-burned match in with the others. As you casually slide the matches of the table into your own hand,

As you say to the expectator, “hold your hand out?”

And you drop all the matches including the pre-burned match into their hand.

So literary just by sliding them off the table top, and dropping them into you own hand, you ask the expectator to hold their hand out and you drop all the matches into their hand.

Momentarily, you keep your hand on top as you ask the expectator “please, put your other on top?”

And then once they are there, with their hand on top, you then relax.

In actual fact, the trick is over. Apart from the one simple move that we explain in match back 1, which is way you actually make the match disappear.

If you remember how I explained it the first time, all you do is literary throw it off to the side, but it is the timing thing.

So, you light the match,

Blow it out,

You keep you attention focused just here at the end of the fingers, eventhough you actually throw it away to the side, it looks it disappears there.

And react!

Make sure react to the magic. Do not just go, oh yes it is gone. There is nothing special with that.

Make sure you look at it with that wonder like you see a magic for the first time you self.

You are amazed.

And then ask them, “open your hand”

“Open you hand”

And when they open their hand at the end, and look through those matches and they see the match burns in there,

This trick absolutely kills. It is unbelievable. And, they cannot believe it because it happen their hands.

And something I say sometimes, I say and “if you feel it, it is still warm”.

Of course, it is not warm. But for some reason, they always say, yes!

Yes, yes, warm!
