I'd like to know things.
Natalie: Hi! I'm Natalie and this is this week's real health news. I just want to ask you. Don't you want to be happier when you love to have less stress in your life, and if you are you know going to a medical procedure, would you like to have the minimum amount of convocations possible? Well that's what this first piece of news that we are going to talk about, it is studies that talk about how nature influences your stress level then how happy you feel. According to the times there are have been recent studies published that show a higher level of happiness, lower levels of stress, and lower medical complications when going through surgeries post op and things like that. When in a natural environment or shown pictures have a natural environment.
The first study that we're going to talk about, let me actually just read it to you if that's the study on patients recovering from gall bladder surgery compared with those who had view of trees and those who could only see a brick wall out there through hospital windows. The groups that had a tree view have shorter post op stays, fewer negative comments and fewer post op complications such as nausea and head aches.
Another study in the report talks about the kids and when they are able to interact in a nature environment how it improves their academic abilities. So, let me read this to you, it says that a study in Sweden indicated that Kindergarten children who could play in a natural environment had less illness, greater physical ability, and were able to concentrate more in school. The U.S studies suggested that when schools get children access to natural environment, academicals levels were raised across the board.
In another study tested four different groups of people and one at to really find out, if that would affect their reading ability, so one this group was a sign to a natural environment for 40 minutes, the other group was in a city for 40 minutes, another group was designated to listen to soft music for 40 minutes, and then the last group had to read magazines indorse for 40 minutes. And then, all four groups were given a very highly demanding proof reading tests and the groups that was in the natural environment scored significantly higher on the proof reading test.
This was a really neat study and I want to talk about it because it really just shows the link between being in the environment and how that affects our bodies. So, if gall bladder patients and open heart surgery patients can have post op out comes and lower complications and you know just over all feel happier after surgery, which is you know an intense procedure in the body, and then also people that perform better on proof reading test when they are in the environment, that's just an evidence right there that, taking a walk can really reduce your stress level. You will have to take the walk just for the exercise factor.
You know I've had times when I was in an argument and really frustrated and you know I would just simply go take a walk and seeing all the flowers and feeling the sun shine, it kind of put things in perspective and its really hard to be angry when nature is so beautiful around you. So, take a walk and that only will improve your health that will reduce stress and make you happier.
