Todd Lasa: Subaru has been selling the legacy mid-size sedan in the United States for twenty years and part to celebrate that, it's the showing the Subaru Legacy concept, which is a preview of what the next legacy will probably be. The legacy now, in showrooms - I entered the US market and the 2005 model year. So we except a new one probably about the 2010 model year very soon in other words.
This one is 3.8 inches longer over all than the current legacy, 3.2 of those 3.8 inches are added to the wheel base. It's also 2.8 inches taller. What that translates into is you will see, rather large DL or daylight opening versus the lower body part of the car. Designer, Osamu Namba, needed to make the car true global mid-size car, in other words a little larger in-lined with what the global mid-size market it. But not make it so large as to effect handling characteristics.
Inside there is plus two seating, this is on the concept of course, white leather seats with root trim and black door panel, it's a rather striking effect. You can see Namba's unique side treatment of the beveling and the profile, we have got rather usual stat LED headlamps and then the lower fox lamps down here, and of course, Subaru flying wing grill.
Unlike the rest of the auto business, Subaru had a pretty good year in United States selling a few more cars, last year and the previous year and obviously wants to build on that with more of a Universal size mid-size car. So I think we'll be seeing this one making a bigger splash in dealers too.
