I'm Daria Dolan. Fly is getting to be the pits. I mean if you thought it was bad over the winter with weather delays. Or if you were part of that American airlines tobacco when they SFA made them pull all their planes down and get everybody off so they can check them, it’s not going to be any better this summer. Number one, consolidation, fewer sits, more packed planes. We’re still flying like crazy and if you're going to go anywhere you're going to hit with fees like you cannot believe, all to help them pay for the rising fuel cost.
For example you want a window or an aisle sit in some cases there are airlines that are charging $30.00 to get you the sit you really want, expect to pay it and that’s just the one direction, double it for the return trip home.
Don’t bring on heavy bags to checks to the plane. There are now six major airlines charging anywhere from $25.00 to $50.00 for second bag. If it’s overweight, you could conceivably with the third bag, say your golfer of something, end up paying another $160.00 to go and another $160.00 to come back if you're going to pack heavy and carry extra bags.
We’re all going to have to learn how to pack less and maybe buy there or ship the stuff ahead. You could be charge for snacks on the planes not just on the discount airlines but going forward on all of the airlines and it’s just going to be a mess. So when you pack your bags, pack your patience because you're going to need that and pack some extra cash. Unless like the Dolan you want to join us at the train station.
