Sun Exposure's Affect on Vision

Mandie: Hi! I'm Mandie from Columbia Station, Ohio and I was wondering what effect does sun exposure have on your vision and what is the best protection for you eyes?

Richard Davidson: Mandie, thank you for that very intellect question. We've see a lot of sun exposures here in Colorado as well as imagine you do in Ohio as well. That's important always take the precautions before that from the sun.

The sun can damage to the eyes chronically by damaging the tissue on the outside of the eye known as the conjunctiva and the cornea. We also think at least the cataract formation and macular degeneration therefore it's always important to wear sun protection when you are outside. Even on party days you can still get a accruement of UV exposure. My best recommendation is to get sun glasses that offer UVA and UVB protection and even chips sunglasses should offer that and look for the sticker of the tag on the sunglasses to verify that they do. In addition it's always important to wear a white burned hat, sunscreen and other protection for your face as the sunglasses not going to protect your face just the eyes and the eyelids.
