These delicious fruits have gotten the bad reputation. Yes, they do contain fat and consequently a lot of calories, but they also contain vitamin A, C, and E, niacin, iron, and a very high B5, folic acid, potassium, and fiber. Adequate intake of potassium can help to guard against circulatory diseases, like high blood pressure, heart disease or stroke. One medium avocado has as much potassium as three bananas and more fiber than prunes. Avocados have the highest dietary fiber content on a weight basis of any fruit. One gram per ounce.
