We are going to look now at a very simple kick. I call it the thrust kick; it's got many different names and many different styles in martial arts. It is dead simple, dead easy to learn.
From the knee up to the side you are going to strike ideally with the base of the heel, but generally with the base of the foot, bring it up, drive it through. Bring the knee up, drive the kick through, you are keeping your body upright, so it keeps you away from your assailant, the knee comes up, you drive through, your ideal target is the attackers knee. But, generally on the leg, it's going to hurt and let’s look at it in the street application, okay.
From here just drive through aiming at the leg keeping them away, you can see my body's away from any oncoming attack, just bring the knee up, drive it through.
