Hi! I'm Mike and this is Tina and we're with Head Over Heels Dance and Fitness. We are showing you basic swing dancing. Now we're going to show some basic Jitterbug turns and here is what we're going to show you.
So from the basic Jitterbug, we're going to do a send out turn. We're going to do a left side underarm turn, we're going to try right side underarm turn and then pull back into the close position where we started. So that's four turns we're going to show you.
Here is the first turn. From a basic position, I just want to send her out into open position. So that go like this; rock step, triple step, triple step. So what's happening here, my footwork is exactly the same rock step, triple step, triple step. It's the same thing I did with the Jitterbug basic, but for the lady, your footwork is a little bit different; rock step, on the first triple step, I'm going to raise my left hand up and I'm going to create a tunnel for her to go underneath. So she is going to triple step right into that tunnel.
On the second triple step, for me in place, the lady is going to have to kind of turn around with her triple step to face. So here it is again. Rock step, triple in and triple out and we can add a rock step on for the next move.
Okay, now the second turn we're going to do is a left side underarm turn. It's called left side underarm turn because she is going to do my left side and she is going underneath my arm; triple step, rock step. So what's happening here -- let's go back in the same position.
So what's happening here is I'm going to raise my hand up until the left and on that triple step, she is going to triple underneath the tunnel which is now my left side and then we'll turn around to face each other. So at the end of this turn, we face we switched directions we are now facing the opposite way. So this whole thing looks like this rock step, triple step, and triple step.
Now the opposite of this would be to raise my hand up across my body into the right and create a tunnel on my right side. Rock step, triple in and triple out, rock step. So there are three of the turns and now we have one last turn to do and that is just a pull back into close position and once we're enclose, so we can repeat or go on to another kind of move.
This one, I still do the same as I did for the regular basic rock step, triple step, triple step. But I'm just pulling her into closed position. So I've two things that make me or make it clear for the lady to do that.
One, is I'm going to keep my hand low and just pull her in and sort of toward my hip. The other is I give her this come get a hug kind of position with my right arm and I leave it open, so that she comes in and naturally sits right into the closed position. So that looks like this. Rock step, triple step and triple step and here is the whole sequence one more time.
So we did our Jitterbug basic and then we send her out and do turn, rock step, triple out. We do a left side turn, triple step and then we do right side underarm turn, triple step and I pull her back to close triple step, triple step, rock step. And that is some basic Jitterbug turns and now we're going to put these together into a dance routine.
