Hi! I'm Mike and this is Tina. We're with Head Over Heels Dance and Fitness. We are teaching basic swing dancing and now we're going to show you the lindy circle and it looks like this 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3 and 4; 5, 7, 8 and rock step. So this lindy circle is a lot like a swingout and in fact it's the same thing as the swingout for the first five beats and then its start to change on 6. So let's get you through the first five beats. Step, step, triple step and step, I'm turning around.
Normally on a swingout, I'll let her keep spinning because I just step back on to this line. But this time on my six rather, I'm going to just let her turn about half as much and I'm going to step to keep facing her. So there is my six. Now seven and eight is still a triple step and I'm just going to kind of pull her back, triple step.
When we do this for real, we want to keep the whole motion smooth, step, step, triple step, she turns with me and triple step, rock step. So to go into the next move and that is how we do a lindy circle.
So now we've done a swingout from close position to get into open position dancing. We've done the swingout in open position and now we've gotten back into close position dancing by doing the lindy circle. So now we can take everything that we've learned with the Jitterbug, the Charleston and the Lindy hop and put it altogether.
