Syncing notes in the cloud with Evernote - #5 - Accessing Evernote Online
Hi. This is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome to part five of our special Butterscotch.com ten part series on Evernote.
Now up to this point, we’ve been working with the desktop version of Evernote. So today, I want to show you the web interface. So open up any browser, go to Evernote.com. I have link in the show notes. Click over here and click Sign In. It already has my name in here for me. Type my password. Now as you can see from earlier segments, here is the database that I created on carving. There is also the welcome note that was in Evernote when we first started.
Now, I want to play on a few differences about the web interface. One difference is that you can’t create new notebooks from the web interface. The web interface is basically a reflection of what you’ve done in your desktop version.
If you’ve elected to synchronize your Evernote notebooks, then all of the information will be here. The ones that you made local only will not be here on the web. So personally, I have all mine synchronized so that all my information that I want on my computer is also available for me on the web.
Now, you can invite a friend from here, you can upgrade to the premium account which gives you more storage space, stronger security and that is only $45 a year. You can go here to Support to check different variations of Evernote for the MAC, Windows, iPhone, mobile devices and so on.
Now, one thing you can do from your web interface is that you can create new notes. You can edit notes, delete notes, print notes and you can E-mail a note. I will select a note. Let’s say E-mail, all I have to do is type in an E-mail address right here, I can put a little personalized message. Add that and it would go off and send them this note.
So, the web interface of Evernote makes it possible for you to access the items in your database essentially from any computer that has a browser and an internet connection. And that concludes part five.
