Hi this is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome to part six of our special Butterscotch.com 10 part series on Evernote. Now in segment I'm going to talk about searches. One of the really cool things about Evernote is that it’s that a powerful search engine so that it could find the information you store in quickly and easily. So I'm in a different Evernote database and I'm going to highlight all notebooks. If I highlight a particular notebook that I am searching in that notebook, so if I want to search to all of the data I have – I click all notebooks. So we’ll type in a word here in the search box – we’ll say computer.
And you see that as it finds the word computer, it highlights it in yellow. And any article I have that has the word computer will have the computer highlighted. That is a handy feature, another handy feature is the ability o save the search, so I could go to file, New save search. I click it and if you will look right here – you can see that it’s notes from all notebooks matching all the following containing the words starting with computer. So I can give it my own name, click OK and now I can pull up that search anytime I want right over here.
The probably the coolest thing to me personally about Evernote search capability – it’s the ability to find text even in pictures. Which to me does blows me away, so let’s say search in the word “Vista.” So we find Vista here but if you look right here in this graphic image that is inserted in this document, here the word Vista is highlighted. And that is pretty cool, so Evernote gives you lots of ways to search, save your searches and it can search even text in your pictures. That concludes part six.
