The Samsung Eternity - Unboxing
Hey guys Jon Rettinger with Jon4lakers.com here with unboxing for you of the Samsung Eternity just sent to the PR firm. It should be mine for about two and a half weeks. So I'm looking forward to using to it and letting you guys know what I think. Let’s go ahead and get to the un-boxing.
I open the pack u. real quick I'm sliding it out. The box looks like there is a card from the PR firm. It is a Holiday card, wishing you a happy holiday. That’s nice of the AT&T people.
All right, so here is the box. It’s a little beat up probably have been reviewed before but let’s go and get to the un-boxing. So here, it is. Picture of device on the front, it is a full touch screen device kind of cool, Samsung Eternity 3G. I guess you can watch TV on it, GPS and it plays music, some AT&T information, package contents, some legal mumbo jumbo, AT&T mobile TV that is pretty cool and nothing else. So let’s go ahead and see what we got inside.
This is not one of the AT&T box that open up. I guess everything slides out of it, nothing else in there. Pull it up to the side. Quick start guide— this is a new phone. Looks like it doesn’t have open yet everything is still sealed.
Quick start guide probably never open that. AT&T Eternity—you know I'm not sure if this is a smart considered smart phone or a feature phone. I have never used it. I don’t know if it has e-mail or any of those capabilities on it but I guess we will find out soon enough.
Here is the device itself, put that down for a minute and a charger, which I assume, has a weird Samsung proprietary ports. Yes it does. It’s like a real squished Micro USB or USB, very big and kind of annoying out of its proprietary it is the same thing that always does that. Let’s take a look at the phone here sealed and packaged.
I don’t know if does this has a sim card in it or not but we’ll take a look here. It is actually pretty nice. it got a kind of metallic field on the back. It’s got a 3-megapixel camera. I don’t know if it’s out focus or not is 3G.
On the front of the device, we got a very large touch screen. It actually feels capacitive. It does not feel like its squishy resistive screen so that’s nice. You have a Send, End button and the back button.
On the left we’ve got volume up and down. It also appears there is a port for charging and I guess there is—you get to buy a separate dongle for headphones. Oh—no, there is a headphone adapter on the other side. I should have just looked before I said anything. Three and a half millimeter headset jack and it looks like camera key and a programmable soft key.
On top of the device looks like to be power on and off. Let’s see if I can take off the back and see how big the battery is here. And there is a sim card in there, that’s nice of them. At least its got an account with it so I can use it or even put in my own sim card that I used at my AT&T phone.
That’s the biggest battery that Samsung have included but it is in case you’re wondering. Let see how many milliamp hours it says on there. It is—it doesn’t say how many milliamp hours.
So, I'm sorry guys I can't give an answer there. I would look in up though and tell you but it says 3.7-volts with ion on. I don’t know how many milliamp battery that is but hopefully, it’s good enough to get for a full day of 3G. Puck the battery back in. It got a nice—actually plastic but it does have nice metallic feel to it. You kind of bay, you can hear that’s plastic. I'm going to cover that back up.
All right back in place it’s like there is watch TV on the go thing here. Let’s pull this off. I think I am the first one who reviews this device here. So, I can't tell what the resist of—the capacity but it feels like the iPhone screen not very squishy. So let’s turn it on and see if it’s got a charge. Let us see what this looks like—maybe dead.
The Power button is the End button. All right AT&T booting up, that obnoxiously allowed 3G logo. Time is being updated. You can see what time I'm filming this here. It’s 9:53 California time at night and looks like we’re all good to go here.
So, I will review the device and let you guys know what I think. Its got these cool little widgets that pop out on the side but more on that kind, as I kind of get to use the phone but it looks to be a pretty nice device so far. I’ll let you guys know what I think after a week or so.
