Hi! My name is Katie Jackson and I'm here at Studio Bleu Dance Center in Ashburn, Virginia. Today, I'm going to show you how to tap dance. We're going to start off showing you how to do a Shiggy Bops and now we're going to break it down.
When doing a Shiggy Bop, you weight needs to start off on your toe, you're heel is going to scuff out, you're going to land on your heel and then drop your weight back. Make sure that your weight is forward otherwise you'll end up following backwards; toe, scuff, toe. So as you scuff out, turn me off the floor, landing and coming back down. Shiggy Bop nice and slow, your arms can kind of just go wherever they naturally fall. Shaggy bop, make sure it scuffs, heel, toe. Speed it up just a little bit, speed it up, speed it up and now we're going to break it down one more time; toe, scuff, heel, toe.
Make sure your weight is on your toe; scuff it out, land on your heel, land on your toe. Now try doing it a little bit faster as you go. Now this step can also be done on your left foot, same thing applies. Weight on your toe, scuff it out, land on your heel and then land on your toe; toe, scuff, heel, toe.
Now make sure that you get that scuff in and try to angle it to the corner. Now make sure your weight is all the way forward otherwise you'll end up falling back. Now as you want the right foot one more time and then the left foot and now the left foot. That's how you do a Shiggy Bop and next we're going to show you how to do a Shuffle Toe Heal Turn.
