Dr. Tea: Welcome to tea tips with me, Dr. Tea. Today, we are going to talk about Matcha. Mat ground cha tea, and how to make my famous frosTea. Matcha originated from Japan and it is nothing more than ground tea. Use Japanese Sancha, san green cha tea, and we take that and we grind it into a beautiful powder format, and this is the oldest form of instant tea. So when you brew up a pot of regular tea, you can see the tea leaves stay at the bottom. You can get all the benefits of those tea leaves. When you brew up a cup of the Matcha, all of the tea leaves are ground up and therefore you get them into your cup.
So you take a nice leveled teaspoon like that, add a little bit of hot water into your cup, about a third of the way up, and then what I am going to do is, I am going to give it a good stir. Then I am going to add a little bit more hot water and fill up my cup. It's just that easy, and you get six times the health benefits in this cup of tea, than you would in this cup of tea.
I am going to take the Matcha today and I am going to show you how easy it is to make one of my frosTeas. So I already prepared my Matcha here. I have a blender full of ice like this, and I am just going to pour it right over the ice like that, and then I am going to add a little bit of my agave for sweetener, roughly a teaspoon. Get myself a nice lid and watch what happens to this, and you are going to have a beautiful summer drink, at less than 12 calories per 16 ounces.
You do a little dance, a little more exercising while you are doing that, and look at this beautiful drink that we are going to have here, that will satisfy any summer thirst. It's just beautiful. Let me taste myself. Truly, nothing could be more satisfying and full of the health benefits you find in tea.
