Hello again, my name is Rodney Reynolds and welcome to another video review. Today I'm looking at the ATI All In Wonder 9000 Pro video card.
As you can see there are a lot of things that are included with this particular product. I’ll go through them one by one. First of all, let’s look at the input adaptor. On the front of this you have an S video connection, a composite video connection and audio connections. And this end right here goes plug right into the video card. It also comes with Velcro so you can stick it just about anywhere. They have also included the output adaptor, this end goes plug into the video card. You have connections in this end right here for the sound card, this end right here goes in to the Dolby digital ac3 amplifier, a composite video connection and an S video connection. Included as well is a remote control, a remote control receiver and this goes plugged in to your computer USB 2 port, four triple A batteries. They also included Pinnacle Studio video editing software, some drivers, a manual, a DVI to VGA adaptor, and the video card.
Not only does this product come package with all kinds of goodies, it has great gaming performance as well as unparalleled TV and DVD features. I’ll go through those first. It comes with a stereo TV tuner with 125 channels. You can do TV on demand which means you can pause live TV, record broadcasts and video play back. It also has a very neat software package called Gemstar Guide Plus. And with that, you can schedule and record your programs.
It also has a very neat technology called Through View. That actually gives you the ability to see through the TV when it’s on your screen. So for instance, if you're maybe browsing the web doing some work, you can watch TV and you can do your work right underneath it. That’s quite incredible and I will show you that as well later on the video review.
Now, let’s not forget, you also have that remote control so you can sit back and change the channels, increase the volume and so on. And you can also capture still images and video for use in your own creations. And you can add all kinds of effects, transitions and sound to that video footage. And then of course, once you're finished, you can burn that video footage on a video CD or a DVD.
This product has some new video features. Let me just go through those. First of all, the Theater 200 chip is located right here. And what that chip does is give you exceptional video quality during DVD, streaming video and mpeg 2 playback. It also has a unique Videoshader engine and that uses programmable pixel shaders to accelerate video processing which provides a better looking image. It also has the Full Stream technology that removes the black effects from streaming internet video and again provides a much sharper image. It also has Smartshader technology which supports the Microsoft DirectX 8.1 and it enables more complex and realistic lighting effects.
Now on to the 3D graphics side of things. This video card has a 4 pixel pipeline architecture, 64 megabytes of DDR memory which is clock at 275 megahertz, and also the core speed is the same. It has 128 bit memory interface and also this card supports AGP 4 times and 2 times.
Now let’s just have a closer look here at the video card. The memory is located on the front of the card. The core is right here with that cooler on top with it. The TV tuner is also right here. On the back of the card we have connections for the video in as well as the connection for the TV, the video out and the DVI connection.
The 3D Mark 03 result is 1,563. The 3D Mark 2001, the second edition result is 9,255. These are the settings I used for the Comanche 4 demo. A screen resolution of 1024x768 at 32 bit. Texture compression is checked. I disabled the v-sync and hardware shader are checked. And the result is 46.58 frames per second. These are the settings for the Quake 3 Arena demo on a video mode of 1024x768 at 32 bit. Geometric detail is at high. The texture detail is at max. Texture quality is 32 bit. And the texture filter is trilinear. And the result is 172.3 frames per second. I've used all the default settings in the XS mark except for screen resolution of 1024x768 at 32 bit. And the result is 7,331. And finally the Unreal Tournament 2003 benchmark results are, the flyby is 94 and the botmatch is 55 and the screen resolution of 1024x768.
And last but not least, let’s have a look at the TV functionality on this particular product. It comes with a remote control, you can use this remote control to control the TV. But this remote control does all kinds of other things. It moves the cursor around the screen. You can launch programs with it and so on. I'm not going to go into much detail about this in this review, but you can go to my video review 169 to find out more information about this product.
Now let’s go back to the TV on here. You can see I have a program open right now. You can move this around the screen as you wish. You can actually resize it as well. And again, relocate it as you want to. You can also resize it to your whole desktop. You can also do a cool feature here called Through View window and what that does is you can see through it. But the neat thing about it is you can actually see through it and you can also click things underneath it. So, if you want to watch TV and be productive, you can certainly do that as well. Now you can have a Through View desktop as well so the whole desktop is a TV basically but the cool thing about it again is you can actually see right through it. And of course with this, you can record the TV program, scroll through the different channels and also of course adjust the volume and so on and so forth. So some fantastic TV functions with this particular product.
That TV tuner does have a lot of features, but add that TV tuner to a software program called Guide Plus, you got one excellent combination. What this Guide Plus software does is download from the internet all the TV listings in your particular area and you can see right on the screen. These are some of the ones in my particular area. So you can see what's coming up in a few hours. What’s coming up in a few days. You can schedule programs. You can also add programs to your favorites. You can search the programs. You can sort the stations, the titles, the actors, the categories, the movies, the sports, et cetera. So you can see here, when you have this program. You have enormous control over the TV that you're watching.
Bang for the buck, it’s almost impossible to beat this video card. All the TV functionalities. So many ins and outs. Great gaming performance, overall, this product is kickass.
